Broncos vs. 49ers Best Player Prop Bet: Albert Okwuegbunam Stays Silent on Sunday Night Football (Sept 25)

The Russell Wilson era with the Denver Broncos isn’t off to the best start, which allows us to target his pass-catchers for our Sunday Night Football player prop best bet.

The Broncos host a familiar foe in the San Francisco 49ers. Wilson had countless battles against the 49ers during his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks and should be a battle between two solid defenses and running games tonight.

However, two solid defenses and running backs doesn’t bode well for tight ends.

Best NFL Player Prop | Sunday Night Football Week 3

Albert Okwuegbunam O/U 26.5 Yards Receiving

Albert Okwuegbunam was quiet in Week 2 after a solid Week 1 performance in prime time. Okwuegbunam failed to catch either target last week and saw his snap count fall from 66% to 52%. The Broncos used four different tight ends. They relied heavily on their run game with Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon running the ball 25 times and controlling most of the game against the Houston Texans.

The 49ers have yet to allow a tight end have a productive game against them to start the season. Of course, they played against the likes of Justin Fields and Geno Smith who combined to throw the ball 47 times for 318 yards. Skilled tight end Noah Fant reeled in two catches for 11 yards in a game where they trailed mostly all of it.

I expect the Broncos to continue to use multiple tight end sets and for Okwuegbunam to see his snap count potentially dwindle below 50%. 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans will have a solid game plan in order for Wilson to struggle through the air. I have Okwuegbunam penciled in at three catches for 20 yards.

Best NFL Player Prop: Albert Okwuegbunam UNDER 26.5 Yards Receiving (-130, DraftKings)
