Rhamondre Stevenson vs. James Conner: Which Running Back Ranks Better For Fantasy Football, DFS Ahead on MNF?

The Monday Night Football matchup between the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals is bound to feature plenty of running backs, Rhamondre Stevenson and James Conner. With fantasy player looking for an edge before the primetime action, let’s take a look at the Rhamondre StevensonJames Conner fantasy football and DFS rankings and see where the value is.

Rhamondre StevensonJames Conner Fantasy Football & DFS Rankings

Per our Stokastic weekly fantasy football rankings, Rhamondre Stevenson is listed as the far better play than James Conner. And using our free player compare tool, Stevenson projects at 24.56 fantasy points, with Conner at 15.62.

In DFS, our expert projections have Rhamondre Stevenson ($8,800) as the highest value play on the primetime slate, outweighing James Conner ($10,000), who will face the tall task of going up against a stout Patriots defense.

With Damien Harris listed as doubtful and likely out of the lineup Monday night due to a thigh injury, we’ll likely see a heavy dose of Rhamondre Stevenson.

“Knowing how much he wants to be on the field just makes me want to fight that much more for him,” Stevenson said recently when asked of handling the primary back duties with Harris sidelined.

Stevenson has struggled to find a rhythm in the past couple of weeks with he Patriots playing from behind for most of the game against the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings. In the 24-10 loss to the Bills in Week 13, Stevenson ran the ball just 10 times for 56 yards but added six receptions. Playing against a Cardinals defense that ranks 20th in fantasy football points allowed to opposing backs, look for Stevenson to be a more integral part of the game plan and approach on Monday night.

For James Conner, he’s coming off his most productive game of the season in the 25-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He ran the ball 25 times for 120 yards and added a receiving touchdown. However, it was his first game of the season rushing for over 100 yards, and the Patriots boast a unit that ranks second in the NFL in fantasy football points allowed to opposing backs.

Expect the Patriots to key in on James Conner throughout the game, making Rhamondre Stevenson the more valuable MNF play.
