Best NHL Parlay Today: Kyle Connor, Jonathan Marchessault Producing Shots on Goal

Three of the NHL’s premier shot producers, including Kyle Connor, will skate Thursday in favorable matchups, and combine to makeup our shot prop parlay at +390 on FanDuel. Be sure to visit the OddsShopper tool for more NHL best bets.

Let’s dive into the three selections below.

Best NHL Parlay Bet Tonight | Nov. 17

Kyle Connor Over 3.5 Shots on Goal -138 (Ducks versus Jets)

Anaheim has allowed 39.02 shots against per 60 minutes this season, and are the clear-cut best matchup to target in shots on goal bets if looking towards the over.

Oddsmakers factor in matchups to an extent as you would expect, however are clearly not adjusting lines enough when we consider that Anaheim are allowing nearly 20% more shots on net on average than middle of the pack NHL sides.

Kyle Connor’s recent average of 3.57 shots on goal over his last seven contests is actually below his average of 4.02 from a season ago, but still a positive comment towards this play when considering how greatly a matchup versus Anaheim helps.

Connor’s role on the team remains the same which is crucial, although seeing Sam Gagner slide in to now injured winger Mason Appleton’s role on the top line could arguably be viewed as a slight negative value to this prop.

Anaheim is also allowing 66.06 SA/60 on the man advantage, which is fifth worst in the league and another very positive metric towards our play here.

Jonathan Marchessault Over 2.5 Shots on Goal -178 (Coyotes versus Golden Knights)

Vegas enter it’s matchup with the Arizona Coyotes as gigantic -390 favorites, and are quite likely to tilt the ice heavily in this contest and generate a ton of attempts on net.

Counting on a six or seven of those attempts to come from the stick of Marchessault is a safe bet, as he has averaged 6.14 attempts on goal over the last seven games.

Vegas has reunited the original “misfits” line of Marchessault, William Karlsson, and Reilly Smith this season, and the results have been tremendous.

In 125.9 minutes together the trio owns a 63.4 expected goals for %, and has generated a ton offensively with 3.72 expected goals for per 60 minutes.

That unit is going to control play at a high level tonight versus the Coyotes, and Marchessault should have every opportunity to surpass his season average of 3.23 shots on goal, although exactly three obviously does the trick for this wager.

Timo Meier Over 4.5 Shots on Goal -144 (Islanders vs. Ottawa)

Meier has fell into a rare slump shot wise, and has missed this number in three of his last four matchups.

However three of those four matchups came on the road against elite shot suppressing opponents, and even still Meier combined to average 7.5 attempts on goal per game in those matchups. Meier has only missed this number five times in 17 contests this season, and leads the league in attempts on goal per game this season.

San Jose has quietly started to play really well as a team, and it’s actually very logical to expect the Sharks to carry more of the play in this spot versus Detroit as it looks to make it a four game winning streak. Meier is likely to be a big part of that, and expecting the Sharks superstar to bounce back past his season average of 4.9 makes sense.

The fact that San Jose currently are actually winning games is a positive factor as well, due to the fact that coach David Quinn should be fully coaching to win and continuing to skate Meier big minutes, contributing to the best NHL parlay.
