DraftKings Pick6 Predictions Today: Panthers Finally Slamming the Door? (June 21)

This could be it. Despite Connor McDavid fueling an epic comeback, the Florida Panthers still stand one game up ahead of the Edmonton Oilers, with a chance to close it out tonight. Much like we have in the past, we will continue to rely on any edge provided by the OddsShopper NHL pick’em tool. We have a desperate Oilers team still in the hunt, while the Panthers can’t allow Edmonton back in this series. That’s plenty of drama to build around some value with DraftKings Pick 6 predictions!

Here’s the lowdown on DraftKings Pick6: It is meant to mirror most pick’em sites, allowing you to build a two- to six-leg entry with larger payouts for more correct choices. However, the new product is peer-to-peer, meaning the strategy lies in beating other players in pre-selected tournaments rather than beating the house, making it important to be contrarian!

Aleksander Barkov M/L Than 2.5 Shots on Goal

The OddsShopper Pick6 optimizer prefers this play over anything else in tonight’s game. There’s market edge and a pathway for a predictive model to agree. It’s far from any indicator of how the game will play out, but we will look to go less than 2.5 shots on goal for Aleksander Barkov in what could easily be a lower-scoring game — at least to the 5.5 total. Ultimately, we see a 2% edge by fading Barkov’s shots on goal.

The last time Barkov cleared the above total was in the previous round against the Rangers. While last five aren’t great indicators during the regular season, they can provide some insight into how a guy is playing in a playoff series. He’s roughly averaging 20 minutes on the ice, and that hasn’t yielded enough shot attempts for Florida’s Finnish center. We like Barkov staying less than 2.5 shots on goal, even if it’s another sweat.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Aleksander Barkov Less Than 2.5 Shots on Goal

Sam Bennett M/L Than 2.5 Shots on Goal

Despite the wide range of outcomes in this series, we have another example of a Panthers player unable to shoot his way out of recent performances. Sam Bennett has also not seen three-plus shots on goal in a game since the Rangers series, with even less average time on the ice than Barkov. The Oilers have won 8-1 and lost 4-1, with multiple outcomes between the two. No matter what we’ve seen, Bennett is stuck with 17 to 19 minutes on average and fewer shot opportunities than against the Rangers.

This is the second favorite for our top plays on Pick6. Our DraftKings Pick 6 optimizer will generate a full six-player entry, and Bennett is routinely popping up as the No. 2 selection. We have another 2% edge with this play staying less than 2.5 shots on goal. Once again, even in a closeout game where the Panthers win, it’s hard to imagine guys outplaying their current roles in this series.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Sam Bennett less Than 2.5 Shots on Goal

Zach Hyman M/L Than 3.5 Shots on Goal

This is our first and only Oilers player but for similar reasons applied above. Maybe it was how fast Florida jumped out or the multiple blowouts in this series, but we see another player with a ton of ice time unable to get back to where he was in the previous series. That’s how long it’s been since Zach Hyman cleared 3.5 shots on goal. This one could be a sweat or a dry night, as we’ve seen plenty of variance in this five-game stretch against Florida. Starting with Game 1, Hyman has alternated between three and one shots on goal, again never hitting four.

We gain a 3% edge by fading Hyman shots on goal play thanks to our DraftKings Pick 6 optimizer. Once again, by generating a six-player entry, we can identify the top three plays on the site, this being the third. Edmonton’s already put up some large numbers in victory, yet even in those we saw Hyman with limited options.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Zach Hyman Less Than 3.5 Shots on Goal
