Updated 2022 World Cup Odds: Brazil Heavy Favorites Following Dominant Win Over South Korea

The Brazil national team flexed their muscle in a big way in the Knockout stages of the World Cup on Monday. As heavy favorites against a much-less-talented South Korea team, the Brazil team was dominant from the jump, eventually winning the match 4-1 to advance. Brazil also came into the game as the favorites to win the World Cup, and the betting line went even more in their favor following the win. It was a celebration from the start of the match for Brazil, who have created a culture centered around their choreographed dances after goals. After Richarlison's beautiful goal put the Brazilians up 3-0 in the first half, their 61-year-old coach, Tite, joined in on a dance near the sidelines -- which quickly went viral.

"They're very young and I always try to adapt a little bit to their language," Tite said to ESPN through an interpreter. "They have a language, which is of dancing."

It's certain all fun and games for a Brazil team that is looking to make more history throughout the rest of the World Cup. Brazil currently leads all countries with five World Cup wins in their storied history, and are looking to add to that total in 2022. Their brightest superstar, Neymar, is also on the verge of making some history of his own.

Earlier in the tournament, Neymar became just the third Brazilian to record a goal in three separate World Cups. With his penalty kick goal on Monday, Neymar moved just one goal away from Pele's Team Brazil record of 77 tallies. After the win, Neymar was seen carrying a banner to honor Pele, who is believed to be watching the World Cup from a hospital bed after being diagnosed with colon cancer.

"I hope he recovers as soon as possible and that he can be at least comfortable today after the victory and with the banner that we dedicated to him. For me, to achieve records is a very great pride. I have achieved things that I would never have imagined I would achieve. I am very happy and content," Neymar said earlier in the tournament.

This World Cup carries some added meaning for the Brazil team, and after their performance on Monday, they have now taken over as the clear favorites going forward.
