Best NBA Player Props: D’Angelo Russell Focusing on Scoring

The NBA has a relatively strong Saturday night schedule for the second straight week. The Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors (8: 30 p.m. ET tip), a rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals, headline a seven-game main slate that is loaded with betting opportunities. Let’s take a look at some of the best NBA player props for Saturday, including D’Angelo Russell taking on the Portland Trail Blazers. NBA Player Props | Dec. 10

Anfernee Simons O/U 2.5 Rebounds

Simons is having the best season of his career, and his fit alongside Damian Lillard is a significant reason that the Trail Blazers sit ninth in the Western Conference. One of the best prop bets tonight is Simons going over 2.5 rebounds.

Simons isn’t a great rebounder, but he has done better on the glass lately. He is averaging 3.3 rebounds over his last 10 games and hauled down at least three in four of his previous five games. Simons has pulled down three boards in 15 of his total 23 appearances this season. He has totaled 16 rebounds over his last six games against Minnesota. He grabbed three or more rebounds in two of the three meetings last year and has done so in four of the previous six games against Minnesota.

The Timberwolves have not been good at rebounding the ball this year. They have difficulty keeping opposing guards off the backboards, as they give up the 17th-most rebounds (13.6 a game) to the opposing backcourt.

Simons projects for 2.88 rebounds tonight. OddsShopper gives the over a 62% chance of hitting and an ROI of 6%.

NBA Player Prop Pick: Anfernee Simons Over 2.5 Rebounds

Jordan Poole O/U 1.5 Steals + Blocks

Poole is having a great season on the offensive end, averaging 17.7 points a game despite coming off the bench much of the time. He is expected to start on the wing tonight, with Andrew Wiggins remaining on the sidelines with a groin injury.

Poole is a sub-par individual defender and doesn’t get many steals. He has totaled only 21 steals and eight blocks in 27 games this season. He did not record a single steal or block against the Jazz on Wednesday and has failed to register more than one block and steal in eight straight games. Poole has totaled two or more combined steals just seven times this season. He projects for 1.02 steals and blocks tonight. OddsShopper gives the under a 66% chance of hitting and an expected ROI of 10%.

NBA Player Prop: Jordan Poole Under 1.5 Steals + Blocks

D’Angelo Russell O/U 7.5 Assists

Russell has not been as effective as a distributor this year as he was a year ago when he doled out a career-high 7.1 assists a game. He has focused on scoring the last three games, with Karl-Anthony Towns out for the foreseeable future.

Russell is averaging 6.4 assists a game this year and is coming off a 30-point and two-assist performance in Minnesota’s victory over Utah last night. It was the third straight game in which Russell failed to record at least eight assists and the fifth time in the last six games. Overall, he has recorded eight or more assists in seven of 25 appearances this year.

Russell projects for 6.4 assists tonight. Stokastic gives the under a 57% chance of hitting and typical of 12%.

NBA Player Prop: D’Angelo Russell Under 7.5 Assists
