Baker Mayfield Futures: Odds on Panthers Quarterback to Turn in Best Statistical Season Released

Is Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield poised for a breakout season after getting a change of scenery?

Last season, Mayfield struggled mightily with the Cleveland Browns after dealing with shoulder injuries throughout the year, and the team decided to pull the plug on his four-year tenure under center.

Now, Mayfield has been given a second chance after winning the Panthers starting job over Sam Darnold, and he’s going to try his best not to let it slip away.

With all the hype surrounding his postseason performance, one sports book is giving odds on the fiery QB to finish with his best statistical season to date in 2022 (most TDs and yards passing).

Baker Mayfield Future Odds

Per DraftKings, bettors can get +450 odds on Mayfield to finish the season with over 27.5 TDs and over 3827.5 yards passing on the season. He finished with 27 touchdowns his rookie season with the Browns in 2017 and turned in his high of 3,837 yards passing a year later in 2018.

Check out more of Mayfield’s odds heading into the 2022-23 season below:

  • Passing Yards: O/U 3,700.5
  • Passing Touchdowns: O/U 22.5
  • Comeback Player of the Year: +800
  • MVP: +8000

In his preseason finale, Baker Mayfield excited the Panthers fan base when completing nine of 15 passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for four yards and finished it off by trucking a Bills defender.

Despite the way things ended in Cleveland, it seems like Baker Mayfield is still the confident, cocky SOB who was drafted first overall after winning the Heisman Award as a member of the Oklahoma Sooners.

“I feel great about this team,” Mayfield said after the last preseason game via the Panthers website. “I feel great about the guys up front and the weapons we have at the skill positions, and we haven’t been out there as a complete unit yet. … We didn’t have everybody playing tonight, but we can still learn from this tape and talk about it as a complete unit.”
