D’Andre Swift vs. Jamaal Williams: Who Has More Fantasy Football & DFS Value For Week 10?

Jamaal Williams or D’Andre Swift?

With the Week 10 Detroit LionsChicago Bears game looking like a sure shootout on paper, let’s take a look at the D’Andre SwiftJamaal Williams fantasy football & DFS ranking and see which Lions running back stacks up better against the Bears.

Per Stokastic’s weekly running back rankings, Jamaal Williams (No. 19 on the board) ranks slightly ahead of D’Andre Swift (No. 25). And using Stokastic’s player compare tool, Swift projects for 11.66 points, compared to Williams at 12.66.

With Swift dealing with injuries throughout the season, Williams has shined as the main option in Detroit’s backfield, with 545 yards and eight touchdowns.

Even with Swift available in Week 9, it was Williams who carried the ball 24 times for 81 yards while playing in 61% of the team’s offensive snaps. But the Lions’ issues go beyond not being able get Swift involved. Although they had the NFL’s highest-scoring offense through the first eight weeks, averaging 35 points per game, they have managed to score just 48 points combined in the past four weeks, an average of 12 per game.

When speaking on the struggles, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson pointed to the lack of explosive plays.

“The explosive game hasn’t been there and that’s not just throwing the ball down the field or getting the big runs. It’s also some of these opportunities we had to get the ball in our hands short and making a tackler miss and creating something that way,” Johnson said to Detroit Free Press. “We are always on the search to get those explosive (plays). When we do those explosive plays, it typically generates more points for us.”

Luckily for Swift and the Lions offense, they’ll be getting a favorable matchup against the Bears in Week 10. Chicago ranks 21st in opponent yards per game and ranks 30th in rushing yards allowed per game by letting up 147.2 yards on average.

The Lions will have an opportunity to get both Swift and Williams going in Week 10, and perhaps both should be considered in fantasy football leagues.
