2023 Super Bowl Odds & Bets: Bills & Buccaneers Early Favorites, But Find Value With Bengals & Vikings Before Week 1

The odds for the 2022-23 Super Bowl are set as we approach the official start of the NFL season on Thursday. This is a good time to analyze what the Super Bowl odds are before the season starts and see if we find any actionable bets now.

Then I will analyze the Super Bowl odds each Tuesday so that I can identify line movement on the odds and note which teams are moving up and down. Each week that will present us with an opportunity to look for good value and jump on those Super Bowl futures bets.

For consistency, I will use FanDuel Sportsbook each week to track teams and odds movement. You can shop for NFL odds across the market here.

2023 Super Bowl Bets

Cincinnati Bengals +2200

This feels incredibly odd to call the reigning AFC Champions a longshot, but that is what this feels like at this number. The public is not backing the Bengals and perhaps that is because they have the third-most difficult schedule.

The Bengals’ biggest issue last year was their offensive line, but they’ve added three new starters to protect quarterback Joe Burrow. Burrow was already the most accurate passer last season, leading the league in completion percentage (70.4%). Now Burrow will have more time to find wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. That sounds like a cheat code.

In this incredibly difficult conference, give me the team that was just battle-tested to make it all the way. I’ll happily fade the public and take the +2200 for the Bengals to go back to the Super Bowl this year and win.

Minnesota Vikings +4000

I have been bullish about the Vikings all summer, and I’m not going to stop now. I love the hire of the new head coach Kevin O’Connell. Based on what he did with the Rams’ offense, I believe he will open this offense up to be more pass-happy and explosive with the weapons they have for quarterback Kirk Cousins. The Vikings struggled last season with third-down percentage, ranking 26th. The Rams, with O’Connell as offensive coordinator, were 7th in third-down percentage. Hopefully O’Connell’s offense can stay on the field and get more points on the board this season.

The Vikings also have a very favorable schedule, ranking 20th. The Vikings also benefit that the NFC is not the gauntlet that the AFC is, so a longshot is more attainable in the NFC. I would like to jump on +4000 before this number goes down significantly.
