Best PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Joe Flacco Airs it Out (January 13)

It’s Wild Card weekend in the NFL, and there’s no better way to celebrate than winning some money on PrizePicks. Saturday brings us two games, both AFC matchups. We’ll kick off the action at 4:30 PM ET in Houston with Browns-Texans and a 44.5 game total. Cleveland is favored by 2.5 points, and this game will be played in a dome. In the nightcap, we have the reigning Super Bowl champs, Kansas City Chiefs, hosting the Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are favored by 4.5 points with a 44 total, but it might be tough to go over that number as frigid temperatures are expected by 8:10 PM ET kick-off.

Selecting the right projections may be challenging, but with the assistance of OddsShopper’s NFL PrizePicks optimizer and thorough research, we’ve got you covered. Let’s dive into the best PrizePicks NFL picks and player predictions for Jan. 13, starting with Joe Flacco. Need more action? Our PrizePicks optimizer has plenty more picks waiting for you to view, and our PrizePicks guide can help you make the sharpest plays possible.

PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Joe Flacco & More

Joe Flacco M/L 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

When the season started, the Browns had visions of the playoffs behind a great defense and a few stars on offense. Well, they made it, but the guys leading the way are Joe Flacco and Jerome Ford, not Nick Chubb or Deshaun Watson. In the final five weeks of the NFL season, Flacco ranked second in both passing yards and touchdown passes with 13. The two guys ahead of him both played six games to Flacco’s five. Basically, since he took over the starting role in Week 13, he’s produced the most offense in the NFL.

Flacco threw at least two touchdown passes in each of his five starts. He gets a matchup with the Texans who he torched back in Week 16. Now, I don’t anticipate 368 passing yards for old Joe, but I do expect a couple of TD passes. In the past six games, the Browns have scored just three rushing touchdowns compared to 15 passing touchdowns. The Browns have a 23.25 implied team total making me believe they will score at least three touchdowns, and odds are two of them will be through the air. The Browns are favored by 2.5 points, and I have them winning this game with defense and a little Flacco magic.

David Njoku M/L 5.5 Receptions

David Njoku led the Browns with 81 receptions and six touchdowns this season. He finished with 120 targets, just two less than wide receiver Amari Cooper. He ranked top five in targets, receptions, and yards for tight ends on the season.

Njoku gets a favorable matchup in this one as the Texans allow 6.29 receptions per game to tight ends, the most in the NFL. When these teams met in Week 16, Njoku had 6 receptions on 9 targets. The Browns are going to throw the ball to create offense, as we’ve seen in the past five games. Flacco has attempted more than 42 passes in four of his last five games. In that stretch, Njoku has 45 targets.

Devin Singletary M/L 13.5 Receiving Yards

On the opposite side of the field, Devin Singletary has become the bell cow for the Texans, leading the team with 88 rushing attempts over the last five games compared to Damian Pierce, who logged just 16 snaps. Since Week 12, Singletary has been targeted 22 times while hauling in 12 receptions for 128 yards. These aren’t Christian McCaffrey or Alvin Kamara type numbers, but he has become a dual threat for the Texans. Singletary has recorded at least three receptions in three of his last four games. Cleveland was top three against tight ends and wide receivers this year, so we should see Singletary get a fair share of targets. He had 19 receiving yards against the Browns in Week 16.

OddsShopper’s Positive EV Bets tool tells us the over has an 8% EV rating with true odds of -142. This projection ranges from 14.5 to 16.5 on other books. Standard odds on PrizePicks are -118, so we are getting good value on this one!
