Browns vs. Steelers Anytime Touchdown Prop Bet: Play Chase Claypool on Thursday Night Football (September 22)

The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has been putrid through the first two weeks of the season — to say the least. In two games, they have only managed 37 points combined. Their offense is in desperate need of a spark. With a total of 38, touchdowns are projected to be limited. But we can take advantage of that poor offense by finding value in Chase Claypool Thursday night.

Chase Claypool Anytime Touchdown (+350, FanDuel)

Through his first two games, Claypool has eight catches on 12 targets with zero drops. Pair that with his six sneaky rush attempts for 36 yards and it’s clear they are feeding him the ball.

The 6-foot-4 big-body receiver will have an excellent matchup across from him. This season, 94 of Claypool’s snaps have come in the slot. The Browns slot corner is slated to be Greg Newsome II, who has allowed nine catches on 14 targets in 2022. That’s good for a 120.8 passer rating allowed, ranking him near the bottom of the NFL when it comes to gradable slot corners.

Another unsettling statistic for Newsome is he has allowed an average of 15.4 yards per reception. He’s not the only one. The deep ball has been Browns kryptonite. On 10 deep pass attempts in 2022, the Browns’ defense has allowed five catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns. This is due to the poor coverage play from both of their safeties. Grant Delpit comes in to Thursday ranking 69th of 71 gradable coverage safeties. To his right it doesn’t get much better with John Johnson III ranking 36th in coverage.

Bet on Chase Claypool to the spark this offense and find the endzone in a primetime divisional matchup tonight.

As always, one catch for glory…
