Is Malik Willis worthy of a fantasy football roster spot in his first career NFL start? Earlier in the week, it was reported that the rookie out of Liberty will be under center for the Tennessee Titans when they face the Houston Texans in Week 8 following an injury to veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
With Willis’ ability to run the football, many are wondering if he could be a long-shot candidate to fill-in as a starter given the bye week for the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
“Being prepared is probably my best bet,” Willis said Friday to ESPN.” You have to prepare like you’re going to be the starter every week.”

Then I’ve seen him be able to slide up in the pocket,” Tians head coach Mike Vrabel said, per NFL Network’s Mike Giardi. “That’s where you can make a lot of damage in the league. Then if you get out the back of the pocket, using numerous QBs as an example, but Josh Allen has made a living going out and making plays out of the pocket and throwing the ball downfield and keeping his eyes downfield.”
While it’ll be excited to see what Willis can bring to the table on Sunday afternoon, it’s probably not wise to slot him into your lineup until he proves himself in the league.
