Veterans Will Pull Through for Croatia

In the first match of the day, Croatia kicks off its World Cup with a winnable match against Morocco in Group F. Croatia was runner-up in 2018, thanks to the superb form of Luca Modric, Mario Mandzukic and Ivan Perisic. The roster has finally received some much needed rotation but still relies heavily on veteran play.

Morocco is the fifth youngest side in the tournament with an average age of 26.2. This is its sixth World Cup appearance and it is trying to make it past the group stage for the first time in 36 years.

Morocco has some exciting offensive talents, but their midfield is going to get absolutely ran through. Croatia will probably run with Modric, Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo Brozovic in the middle, which is an ironclad three-man unit. Kovacic started one match back in 2018, and his 6.57 progressive passes per 90 will boost them going forward.

The moneyline in favor of Croatia has plus odds at +110, which is great value. Zlatko Dalić’s side has won five matches in a row and expect them to go again Wednesday.

Final Morocco-Croatia Pick: Croatia Moneyline (+110, DraftKings)

Japan to Pull Off Massive Upset?

Upset alert! Japan could pull off something remarkable here against Germany in Group E. In a group that includes Spain and Costa Rica, Japan is the third favorite to advance with +300 odds. Nonetheless, Japan has 61% of the betting handle in favor of them covering the +1.5 spread Wednesday. Take it one step further and have them covering the +0.5 spread (+180), basically a win or draw.

Japan is easily one of the most exciting teams at this tournament with a free-flowing and press forward attack. It is led by former Liverpool player Takumi Minamino, who is in the top 89 percent of European big five forwards in both non-penalty goals and assists per ninety minutes (0.46/0.34). Daichi Kamada, who has 10 goal contributions for Frankfurt this season, will be alongside him. This Japan team has excitement all over, a key reason it had the highest xG in Asian qualifying.

Germany is a European giant and favored to go far. However, its defense is still wobbly under Hansi Flick. Germany had the fifth worst xGA in Nations League (A) and likes to turn the ball over high. Japan will capitalize and at least get a draw in what will be a massive upset.

Final Germany-Japan Pick: Japan +0.5 (+180, DraftKings)

World Cup Odds: Belgium-Canada Odds

Belgium Moneyline -195
Canada Moneyline +550
Draw Moneyline +330

Both Teams to Score in Belgium-Canada

A chalky play wraps things up with both teams to score in Belgium-Canada in Group F. This play has odds of -125 at DraftKings, which is good value considering it has hit in 71% of Belgium’s past seven matches.

Also, Belgium is the fifth oldest team in the tournament. This will not help against Canada, which is dominated by youth. In fact, Jonathon David, Alphonso Davies and Tajon Buchanon are all under 23. Canada’s top goal scorer, Cyle Larin, who netted 13 times in qualifying, is 26.

Canada has compiled an xG of 1.79 in its past 10 matches, which is tremendous. On the other side, you do not have to worry as much about Belgium scoring. It has enough to get it done with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.

Final Belgium-Canada Pick: BTTS (-125, DraftKings)
