No House Advantage World Cup Player Props

Luka Modric Over 76.5 Passes

The first World Cup player prop is as easy as they come with Luka Modric attempting over 76.5 passes for Croatia against Morocco. Luckily, this is the second time these nations have played at the 2022 World Cup, which gives us some nice head-to-head statistics. On Matchday 1, Modric attempted a whopping 95 passes against Morocco, which was second highest on the team.

While Morocco’s attack improved with time in Qatar, expect the game to be played in a similar fashion. Croatia will probably still have the majority of the ball, which is why this prop still works.

Moreover, when you look at Modric’s stats from afar, he is averaging 76.35 passes per 90 minutes. Obviously, this is right on the fringe of this prop hitting or missing. Nonetheless, it has hit in two of his past three contests and will be boosted by the absence of Marcelo Brozovic. Finally, this will probably be Modric’s last ever match at the World Cup, and that motivation to win something on his last hoorah should keep him active on the passing front.

Youssef En-Nesyri Over 0.5 Shots on Goal

The next World Cup player prop features Youseff En-Nesyri to get at least one shot on goal for Morocco. At face value, this seems like a difficult proposition. En-Nesyri has two shots on target at the World Cup with a SoT/90 ratio of 0.40. Nonetheless, Croatia is playing with a jumbled back line because of injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Josip Juranovic. This presents a glaring opportunity for the Morocco frontman to cause some damage at the top of the pitch.

Though he did not get a shot on target in the reverse fixture, Croatia’s defense has arguably become more strained in recent games. In fact, the Vatreni have been expected to concede nine in their past four contests, allowing 58 shots along the way. A proactive move would be to favor En-Nesyri to challenge Dominik Livakovic on the night.

Azzedine Ounahi Under 44.5 Passes

The last World Cup player prop is for Azzedine Ounahi to stay under 44.5 passes for Morocco. The 22-year-old has only hit the over on this prop total in one of his six appearances at the 2022 World Cup. This prop total might be a bit inflated by his 77-pass performance against France on Wednesday.

Ounahi really struggled to put together many passes against Croatia the last time out. The Angers midfielder  mustered 30 passes, which is far below what we need here. He is going up against a very strong left-hand flank for Croatia that includes Ivan Perisic, Mateo Kovacic and Borna Sosa. Honestly, it is hard to expect much out of the Morocco youngster considering who he is up against here.
