George Kittle Not Practicing: Target These Two Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Replacements At Tight End

It sounds like the San Francisco 49ers will be without George Kittle for the second consecutive week.

After missing the 49ers Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears with a hamstring issue, it was reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday that Kittle is still not practicing.

With the news, fantasy football owners are scrambling to try to find replacements. Here are two good tight ends that you can look to for your fantasy football Week 2 matchups.

Albert Okwuegbunam & Gerald Everett Among Fantasy Football Tight End Options on Waiver Wire

If Kittle does end up missing another week then Denver Broncos tight end Albert Okwuegbunam or Los Angeles ChargersGerald Everett are good options on the waiver wire.

Okwuegbunam had just 33 yards on Monday night, but given that he had six targets and five reception, it’s clear that he’s going to continue growing alongside Russell Wilson.

“He’s viable,” our fantasy football expert Matt Savoca said in this week’s edition of Must Start & Sit Quarterbacks & Tight Ends. “He is viable in Russell Wilson‘s offense, it’s official.”

Similarly, Everett was able to showcase the skills that made him a free agent target for Justin Herbert‘s Chargers. He hauled in just three catches, but had 58 yards including an impressive effort on an 18-yard touchdown in the team’s 24-19 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

“I think it’s something that we’ve seen all throughout camp from him,” Herbert said of Everett after the win to the Chargers’ website. “He’s just a playmaker. He’s a special player. Whenever you get the ball in his hands, something good is going to happen. It’s a broken-down play and he finds his way up the sideline, makes an incredible catch and fights for two more yards. That was awesome to see. I’m not surprised by that, either. I’ve seen that all camp. It’s just really good to see from him.”

Right now, OddsShopper has Everett ranked as the seventh tight end on the board, and Okwuegbunam right behind him at #8 in our Week 2 NFL Sit ’em Start ’em Fantasy Football Rankings. Okwuegbunam is currently rostered in just 24.6% of ESPN fantasy leagues, with Everett rostered in 23.8% of leagues.
