Eagles Super Bowl Odds: Where Philadelphia Stands After Losing to Commanders

Did the Philadelphia Eagles suffer a blow to their Super Bowl chances with the unexpected loss on Monday night? Despite coming into the Week 10 finale flying high at 8-0 and looking like a true Super Bowl front-runner, the Eagles took a step back on Monday, losing to the Washington Commanders 32-21 on their home turf. Even with the loss, the Eagles Super Bowl odds went form +500 to +600 (via DraftKings). They’re behind just the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs on the list of favorites. In the loss to the Commanders, one glaring flaw stood out for the Eagles: their inability to stop the run. The tandem of Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson feasted on the Eagles defense all night, with them running for a combined 130 yards and two touchdowns. In a related note, the Eagles still have to face Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants two more times before season's end.

“We'll work like crazy to get it fixed, and we understand that that will be the narrative of how to beat us," said head coach Nick Sirianni via SI. "We have to own that and fix it, and we will.”

The Eagles will have their first chance at getting the run game fixed when they face off against Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. Despite getting little production out of the ground game all season, Taylor busted loose for 147 rushing yards and a touchdown in the 25-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Jeff Saturday's debut as interim head coach.

“Obviously, we have to go look at this tape,” said Sirianni. “We'll look at this tape and see what went down in this game, knowing that, hey, when you show that a team attacks a place, we're going to see it again, right, and then we're going to see that again."

With MVP candidate Jalen Hurts running the offense, the Eagles still have a prime opportunity to go into the playoffs as one of few teams who have a legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl. But that's not to say they have no holes, and those holes were exploited by the Commanders on Monday night. Still, the Eagles Super Bowl Odds look intriguing at that price.
