New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston is finally starting to feel like himself again.
After suffering a season-ending ACL injury in Week 8 of last season, Winston set his sights on returning for the upcoming 2022-23 NFL season.
In an interview on Wednesday, Winston said that he’s finally getting some mobility back in his knee and feeling like he can use his versatility on the football field much more than in previous weeks.
“I’m feeling better every single day,” Winston said. “Yesterday, I could run a little bit more and move around a little bit more, because that’s part of my game. So I’m getting better every day.”
Given that he missed the bulk of last season and will be returning from injury, bettors are wondering what the current odds are on Winston to win the Comeback Player of the Year Award.

Per DraftKings (shop for the best price here), Jameis Winston is currently sitting at +550 odds to win the Comeback Player of the Year. The only player with higher odds is Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry at +400 — who was sidelined for the second half of last season while nursing a foot fracture.

Despite Derrick Henry coming in as the betting favorite, it feels like Jameis Winston is worth a small wager.
After all, Henry isn’t really coming back this season. Even though the bulldozing back missed the entire end of the regular season in 2021-22, he was able to return for the team’s playoff loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals. In that game, Henry ran the ball 20 times for 62 yards and a touchdown.
In Winston’s case, he has spent the entire offseason in a grueling rehab process after suffering a much more significant injury, and he’ll have the chance to show he can still lead the Saints offense pretty well.
Before getting injured last season, Winston started seven games, completing 59% of his passes for 1,170 yards to go along with 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Of course, Jameis Winston won’t have Sean Payton calling plays for him anymore after the veteran head coach stepped away from the Saints following the conclusion of last season. But it still makes sense to take a chance on Winston to win Comeback Player of the Year Award given the value of the odds.
