James Conner vs. Alvin Kamara: Who Has More Fantasy Football, DFS Value in TNF?

The Arizona Cardinals were without starting running back James Conner during their loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week, and while he was limited this week in practice due to a ribs injury, Conner is set to be a game-time decision for Arizona when they take on the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football. However, if he’s available to play, this is causing some James ConnerAlvin Kamara fantasy questions for both traditional and DFS formats alike.

Being as the Saints will be without quarterback Jameis Winston and receiver Michael Thomas for Week 7, they’re likely to lean on Kamara early and often.

In the first game of the week, many fantasy football and DFS players are wondering what to do with their running back slots, so let’s take a look at where we have Kamara and Conner ranked.

Alvin Kamara and James Conner DFS & Fantasy Football Ranking

Per our Stokastic NFL Start/Sit Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 7, we have Kamara (No. 9 running back on the board) ranked significantly ahead of Conner (No. 23). And using the DFS Player Compare tool, Kamara $6,900) projects at 16.00, and we’re awaiting an official injury designation for Conner before his projection gets revealed.

In Week 6, it was Eno Benjamin to took the bulk of the carries in the absence of Conner. He carried the ball 15 times for just 37 yards as the Cardinals struggled once again to move the ball.

If Conner isn’t able to go on Thursday night, we still wouldn’t expect much of a drop off with Benjamin. In five games played this season, Conner has rushed for just 200 yards and one touchdown, but has added 14 receptions.

While the Saints will likely lean on what they excel at in running the football with Kamara, the Cardinals will need to figure out how to get any production whatsoever out of their backfield before they can reach their potential as an offensive unit.
