Fantasy Football Week 7 Waiver Wire: Is Kenyan Drake Worth a Pickup Amid Uncertainty About J.K. Dobbins?

It’s currently unclear what the availability of Baltimore Ravens running back J.K Dobbins will be going forward.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Dobbins was held out of practice after a knee issue caused him to spend the bulk of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants on the bench.

“Yes, his knee tightened up. It just didn’t respond, probably to the turf maybe. I don’t know, but it tightened up and he couldn’t go,” Ravens head coach Jim Harbaugh said after the game.

Kenyan Drake Fantasy Football Ranking & Analysis For Week 7

With Dobbins out of action, Ravens backup running back Kenyan Drake shined in Week 6. He ran the ball 10 times for 119 yards and a touchdown and added one catch for 8 yards in the loss.

Stokastic’s NFL Start/Sit Fantasy Football Rankings have Dobbins 23rd among running backs for Week 7, but Drake will certainly be in the picture as a flex option if Dobbins isn’t suiting up.

“It’s always next man up mentality, and he (Dobbins) was my biggest cheerleader,” Drake said. “He’s coming off an injury and I’m coming off one myself. I felt as good as I’ve felt since my injury. I’m going to use it for momentum moving forward.”

Luckily for Dobbins and/or Drake, they’ll be going up against the 32nd ranked running defense in the Cleveland Browns in Week 7 when trying to rebound from a gutting loss in Week 6.

The Ravens should be able to run the ball effectively on Sunday no matter if it’s Dobbins, Drake or quarterback  Lamar Jackson taking off. But it’s best to see how the injuries affect the Ravens backfield before inserting any of their options into fantasy football lineups.
