Ravens vs. Broncos Prediction and Odds: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Try to Bounce Back From Disappointing Loss

Two teams heading in opposite directions will face off in Week 13 when the Baltimore Ravens host the Denver Broncos. The Ravens (7-4) and aspire to make a deep playoff run. The Broncos (3-8) are just trying to avoid finishing in last place in the AFC West. Using the latest NFL odds, let’s dig into the Ravens-Broncos prediction, pick and odds to analyze how things might play out for both sides.

Lamar Jackson Looking to Bounce Back

The Ravens suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final seconds last week to the Jacksonville Jaguars to fall into a tie with the Cincinnati Bengals atop the AFC North. Jackson racked up yards in bunches on the ground again, turning 14 carries into 89 yards. However, he finished with a modest 254 passing yards and one passing touchdown. He has only one rushing touchdown and seven passing touchdowns across his past eight games. Top tight end Mark Andrews is back from injury, but a lack of talent at wide receiver will continue to limit Jackson’s upside.

As bad as the Broncos have been, their defense has played well. Teams are averaging 17.6 points per game against them, which is third in the NFL. Their strength has been allowing the third-fewest passing yards per game. However, they are middle of the pack in terms of their run defense, which could end up being their downfall against the Ravens’ heavy running attack. The NFL Player Props Tool projects Jackson to rush for 59.0 yards.

Broncos Offense Continues to Flounder

The Broncos offense has been downright embarrassing. They lost to the Panthers last week, scoring just 10 points in the process. Over their past seven games, they have scored 16 points or fewer six times. They have certainly dealt with their share of injuries, including losing some key skill players for the season. However, QB Russel Wilson isn’t helping matters, throwing for multiple touchdowns in only one game this season. He hasn’t thrown for at least 300 yards in a game since Week 1. The NFL Player Props Tool has Wilson projected to finish with 222.3 passing yards and 1.1 passing touchdowns.

The Ravens giving up 28 points to the Jaguars last week raises some red flags. They had been playing well and are allowing a modest 20.6 points per game for the season. They have been lights-out against the run, allowing the second-fewest rushing yards per game. Although they have allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game, that might not be a concern for this matchup with how poorly Wilson has performed.

Final Ravens-Broncos Prediction & Pick

After losing to the Jaguars last week, the Ravens can’t afford another disappointing loss to a team with a losing record. They had generally taken care of business against bad teams prior to then, with their previous three losses coming to teams with winning records. Two of those three losses came to the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, who are among the best teams in the league. This spread is large given how well the Broncos have played on defense, but considering how poorly they played against Sam Darnold and the Panthers last week, they could be facing another lopsided loss. The better option, though, might be to take the under for the game total.

Final Ravens-Broncos Pick: Under 39.5 Points (-110, BetMGM)
