Saints-Cardinals Fantasy Rankings: Marquez Callaway & Tre’Quan Smith Have Fantasy Value on TNF (October 20)

The New Orleans Saints announced earlier in the week that they’ll be without receiver Michael Thomas for their Thursday Night Football tilt against the Arizona Cardinals, but standout rookie receiver Chris Olave will be back in the fold after suffering a scary concussion during a touchdown catch in Week 5.

Regardless, the Saints will likely need to get production out of receivers Tre’Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway without Thomas on the field. And fantasy football and DFS players are wondering which (if any) player has value against the Cardinals.

Saints-Cardinals Fantasy Rankings: Marquez Callaway & Tre’Quan Smith

Per Stokastic’s NFL Start/Sit Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 7, neither Callaway (No. 62 of all receivers) nor Smith (No. 64) project as starters for fantasy football. But perhaps there’s some value on the DFS side.

Using Stokastic’s DFS Player Compare Tool, Callaway ($4,000) projects as a slightly better play over Smith ($4,500), with Callaway at 7.14 projected points and Smith at 6.73.

On the season, Callaway has nine catches for 98 yards and a touchdown, but he was targeted seven times in the Saints’ Week 6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Smith has just nine catches on 14 targets for 176 yards this year. He was able to haul in his first touchdown of the season in Week 6.

Neither Callaway nor Smith are expected to have a huge performance on Thursday Night Football, but those looking for some buy-low options get a slight edge going to Callaway against the Cardinals.
