Teuvo Teravainen Prop: Anytime Goal Scorer (+290)

Teuvo Teravainen is not a goal scorer by trade, but it’s a bit a curious to see the three-time 20-goal scorer without a tally through 12 games this season. He only has five assists on the season, while his 26 shots on goal are more or less in line with his career marks. However, Teravainen tallied 22 goals and 65 points in 77 games last season. He’s still skating on the team’s top line alongside Sebastian Aho, making it even more confusing as to why he hasn’t been able to find the back of the net.

Teravainen no longer skates on the Hurricanes top power play, which doesn’t help. However, he’s still skating 17:27 per night alongside Aho, so the first goal of his season should be coming soon.

Both Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight have been mediocre between the pipes for the Panthers this season, and Knight will go this evening. He’ll carry a .903 save percentage into action and has slightly negative goals saved above average for the season at -0.30, per Hockey Reference.

It’s only a matter of time before Teravainen finds the back of the net, so look for him to notch one tonight at excellent value.

Sidney Crosby Prop: OVER 1.5 Points (+178)

The Pittsburgh Penguins are on an ugly seven-game losing streak, but they have a good chance of putting up some offense against a depleted Washington Capitals club. The Capitals are decimated by injuries to key contributors. On the back end, both John Carlson and Dmitry Orlov are sidelined, as are Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie, Tom Wilson, Connor Brown and Carl Hagelin.

With just 2.29 goals per game over their current skid, the Penguins still are 11th in overall offense. More encouraging is the fact they are sixth in expected goals per 60 at five on five. They’ve still been a dangerous offense, but the pucks just haven’t gone in after a white-hot start to the season.

As for Sidney Crosby, he’s recorded six goals and 14 points in 12 games and is coming off a goal and an assist against the Seattle Kraken his last time out. The Penguins own 60.51% of the expected goals at five-on-five and 64% of the high-danger scoring chances with him on the ice this year.

After such a tough stretch, this Penguins offense is going to break out any time now. Tonight seems like a fine opportunity to do so against a beat-up Capitals back end and forward group.

Trevor Zegras Prop: OVER 0.5 Assists (+132)

The Ducks have a nice opportunity to take advantage of a Wild team playing their second game in as many nights. Not only do they get a potentially tired Wild club, but they should also face Wild backup goaltender Filip Gustavsson, he of a disastrous 3.93 goals against average and .878 save percentage on the season.

As a rookie last season, Zegras averaged 0.51 assists per game, collecting 38 of them across 75 contests. He’s been more of a goal scorer this season, with seven goals and 12 points in 13 games, but an unsustainable 24.1% shooting rate suggests the goals should slow while the assists remain steady.

Zegras is averaging 19:28 of ice time per game as the team’s top center at even strength and on the top power play. The Ducks offense has improved after an extremely slow start, and Zegras has been a drive of that improvement, notching three goals and four assists over his last five games.

The Wild have been better defensively than the surface numbers would suggest, but with a weak goaltender going in a back-to-back scenario, Zegras should be able to continue to produce, this time in the assist column.
