World Cup No House Advantage Player Props

Kylian Mbappe Over 1.5 Shots on Goal

The first player prop I want to focus on is Kylian Mbappe to get over 1.5 shots on goal. Mbappe is the shining star of this France team, leading their attack next to Olivier Giroud. Everything goes through Mbappe and his pace offers a dimension not many defenders can cope with. The 23 year-old is currently scoring 1.14 goals per ninety minutes for France, with a blistering 0.69 non-penalty expected goals per ninety across all competitions in the last year.

In terms of shooting, Mbappe is very efficient with a goals per shot ratio of 0.26, France’s third highest mark. The PSG forward puts up 3.69 shots per ninety, with about 2.13 of those falling on frame. Australia will be an easy match for France that offers a chance for Mbappe to solidify his Golden Boot chances.

Raphael Varane Under 75.5 Passes

France has all but confirmed that Raphael Varane will start out on the bench Tuesday against Australia. Didier Deschamps is allowing Ibou Konate of Liverpool to step into the open center-back role alongside Dayot Upamecano.

It should be extremely difficult for Varane to accumulate 76 passes in that role. If he was playing, this would be a prop to consider given that France has absorbed nearly 60% possession over their last ten matches. Varane is a talented center-back and might have even got more touches without Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante in the middle.

Still, the numbers for Varane in the past year do the talking in terms of his ball playing ability. For one, he is only averaging 52.9 attempted passes per ninety minutes. On top of that, he is in the bottom 30% for dead-ball passes, passes from free kicks, through balls and crosses relative to other European big-five center-backs.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg Over 78.5 Passes

For our final world cup player prop on No House Advantage, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has great value to get over 78.5 passes on Tuesday. Denmark could easily hold 70% possession on the day against a lackluster Tunisia side. Tunisia has only averaged 53% possession in their last ten matches, which is alarming given their low strength of schedule. When they played Brazil, they could only muster 35% possession, which foreshadows how Tuesday could play out.

Hojbjerg is currently averaging 69.8 passes per ninety minutes, which is slightly above the listed prop. Nonetheless, this prop has hit in two of his last three matches for Denmark, averaging 82.3 passes across those games.
