WNBA Picks Today: Finals Betting Predictions

WNBA Pick: Sun vs. Aces Game 1

These two teams played great basketball all year and will now battle it out for the WNBA Championship. As the Finals are set to begin, both the Sun and the Aces are mostly healthy. Connecticut is good to go, but Aces forward Dearica Hamby was extremely limited in her return last series, as she played just four minutes per game in the final two games.

The Sun pulled out a win in Game 5 of the semifinals after a thrilling comeback in the fourth quarter. DeWanna Bonner has become the go-to player for Connecticut in these playoffs, and she’s answered the call time and time again. Her team’s last series against the Sky was long and hard fought, and they struggled to score most nights, but their defense was impeccable for the majority of the meetings.

Meanwhile, the Aces managed to beat Seattle in just four games in their semifinal matchup. They survived a few monster games from Breanna Stewart as A’ja Wilson showed up huge in the final few games. Chelsea Gray was dominant in the series, and she got help from Kelsey Plum as well. The Aces are playing great basketball at the perfect time, and they are heading into these Finals playing with a ton of confidence.

During the season, the Aces were the better scoring team, while the Sun were the better defensive team. This series should go back and forth, and if it’s anything like their meetings in the regular season, it will be very hard fought. When betting the first game of the WNBA Finals, roll with the Aces at home to win and win somewhat comfortably. They are at home and have had more rest than Connecticut leading up to Game 1. It’s also worth taking a look at the point total, as it’s set at 169.5. The best bet to make there is the over, as these two teams averaged 177 combined points per game in their three regular season meetings this year. They scored 170 or more points in all three games.

WNBA Playoff Predictions Today: Aces -6.5 (-105) and Over 169.5 Total Points
