Blake Corum Heisman Odds: Michigan Running Back Among Betting Favorites After Dominant Performance

Michigan Wolverines running back Blake Corum wasn’t considered much of a threat to win the Heisman Trophy coming into the season. But after the first seven weeks, he has fully entered the conversation.

Since Corum’s dominant performance against Penn State on Saturday afternoon, he has surged up the list of betting favorites to win the Heisman. Check out the full odds below:

During Michigan's 41-17 win over Penn State, Corum ran the ball 28 times for 166 yards and two touchdowns. He currently leads the nation with 13 rushing touchdowns and is second to Illinois' Chase Brown in rushing yards with 901.

"Blake's really fast, Donovan's really fast. When they get in the open, those guys are rolling," Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said of his team's running attack.

This was the fourth straight game where Corum ran for at least 100 yards and the first for backup Donovan Edwards. Going forward, it's hard to imagine that Corum has a great chance to win the Heisman Award given the platoon approach Harbaugh has implemented as of late, but the lead back is making it clear on a weekly basis that he's one of the top talents in college football.

"He was just so good right when he got here," Harbaugh said of Corum. "He's always maintained an impeccable approach to the game of football in terms of work ethic. I think he's added a few pounds this off-season and it’s all strength, it's all lean-muscle mass. Just as fast, just as quick. Probably no better example of selflessness in the program than Blake Corum. He's a tremendous worker and a tremendous leader, I can't say enough good things about him. He's always been good, his approach has always been A++ and his play speaks for itself."
