Best NHL Parlay: Brandon Montour Gains Value for Florida Panthers (October 29)

With a loaded 12-game slate of hockey on Saturday, there are plenty of options to pick through when crafting parlay. Specifically, a couple of player props are worth targeting, featuring Brandon Montour and Brandon Hagel.

Let’s dive into a two-leg parlay for Saturday which pays out over 3/1, and be sure to use the OddsShopper tool to shop more bets.

Tonight’s NHL Parlay Bet | October 29

Brandon Montour Points

On Saturday, there is an Atlantic Division tilt as the Florida Panthers host the Ottawa Senators. The big storyline to start the year for Florida was the injury to star defenseman Aaron Ekblad, who was placed on LTIR with a lower-body injury.

In his absence, defenseman Brandon Montour has stepped into a first-pairing role while also skating with the first power-play unit. Montour has done a terrific job in this expanded role, posting one goal and three assists over four games.

This strong play should continue against Ottawa. Over his last six games against the Sens, Montour has found the back of the net twice while adding three assists.

Projected to take the crease for Ottawa is goaltender Anton Forsberg, who has allowed three goals in each of his last two starts against the Panthers. At 5v5 this season, Forsberg ranks just 22nd among starting goaltenders in goals saved above expected per 60 minutes (GSAx/60).

In what should be a fast-paced, high-scoring game, Montour should not have too much difficulty contributing to the scoring in some capacity.

NHL Parlay Bet: Brandon Montour Over 0.5 Points (-112)

Brandon Hagel Points

Backing another player who plays on a team from the state of Florida, Brandon Hagel should also be able to contribute in the scoring department as the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the San Jose Sharks. Skating on the first line alongside Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov, Hagel basically just has to exist and he will get at least a point.

Now, to give more credit to Hagel, he has taken advantage of this role and has been excellent over the last three games as he has accumulated three goals and an assist. Riding the hot hand, Hagel is going to keep getting great opportunities alongside Tampa Bay’s stars as he nurses this three-game goal streak.

This game should be a great opportunity for Hagel to keep It going as San Jose ranks in the bottom half of the league in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60) at 5v5. Projected to take the crease for the Sharks is James Reimer.

While Reimer’s surface-level stats are very strong, his metrics suggest that this game is a good opportunity to sell high on the San Jose netminder. At 5v5 this season, Reimer ranks just 23rd among starting goaltenders in GSAx/60.

Across his two starts against the Lightning last season, Reimer went 0-1-1 with a .844 SV% and 5.58 GAA.

NHL Parlay Bet: Brandon Hagel Over 0.5 Points (+125)
