Cameroon Winless in its Last Four

The first World Cup bet has a little juice, with Switzerland -135. This is the type of play that should receive multiple units. Switzerland enters this match with a terrific record in Matchday 1, unbeaten in its last five appearances. Moreover, it is a team that could go quite far in this tournament. With that being said, a win on Thursday is imperative given that its other two group fixtures include Brazil and Serbia.

Not that it always matters, but on paper this is a lopsided matchup, as the sides have respective FIFA rankings of 15 and 43. Switzerland has a nice mix of youth and veteran leadership, which should help it overcome Cameroon. Cameroon is winless in its last four after a rather weak World Cup qualifying campaign.

Additionally, the offense, led by Karl Toko Ekambi and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, consistently cannot cash in on a high expected goals (1.6 per 90 minutes in its last 10). Against an experienced Swiss defense and Yann Sommer in net, Cameroon will lose 1-0 or 2-0.

Final Switzerland-Cameroon Pick: Switzerland Moneyline (-135, DraftKings)

Uruguay Moneyline -135
South Korea Moneyline +425

Uruguay to Net Twice

These sides also matched up at South Africa 2010 in the Round of 16. Uruguay advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to a lovely brace from Luis Suarez, a player who still has a massive imprint on this national team.

In recent months Uruguay has also scored multiple goals in four out of its last six matches. On top of that, 1.83 expected goals per 90 in the last 10 show Uruguay’s ability to convert on chances.

Diego Alonso is likely to start Suarez and Darwin Nunez up top, which is a strike force for the ages. While Nunez only has two goals for the national team, he is on a flyer at Liverpool, scoring 0.78 non-penalty goals per 90 while also managing 7.7 touches in the opposition box.

South Korea has also conceded in four out of its last seven, averaging 1.43 goals conceded in that span.

Final Uruguay-South Korea Pick: Uruguay Team Total Over 1.5 (+105, DraftKings)

World Cup Odds: Brazil-Serbia Odds

Brazil Moneyline -205
Serbia Moneyline +550
Draw Moneyline +360
Over/Under 2.5 Total Goals Over: -140, Under: +110
Location Lusail Stadium, Lusail, Qatar

Loads of Goals in Brazil-Serbia

Both of these teams have bundles of offensive talent. Serbia and Brazil’s last six games have featured 3.83 and 4.00 total goals, respectively. Furthermore, both of these countries also outperform their expected goals by over 0.50 goals per 90 minutes, which is an extreme testament to their clinical talents in front of goal.

Brazil is obviously the heavy moneyline favorites in this match at -205. Their defense has been solid as of late, with four clean sheets in seven games. However, Serbia will likely get a goal on Thursday. Aleksander Mitrovic was a force in World Cup qualifying, scoring 1.36 goals per 90 minutes; this form has now translated into a successful EPL season at Fulham. With Vlahovic next to him, it does not take much convincing to foresee goals on both sides of this contest.

Final Brazil-Serbia Pick: Over 3.5 Total Goals (+185, DraftKings)
