Justin Herbert vs. Patrick Mahomes: Who Has More Fantasy Football, DFS Value for SNF?

Who will stand out between Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes in the matchup of two star quarterbacks on Sunday Night Football? With the Los Angeles Chargers set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, let’s take a look at the Patrick MahomesJustin Herbert fantasy questions for traditional and DFS formats.

Justin HerbertPatrick Mahomes Fantasy Football and DFS Ranking

Per our Stokastic weekly quarterback rankings, Mahomes (No. 2) ranks slightly ahead of Herbert (No. 6). With our player compare tool, Mahomes projects at 23.82 points, with Herbert projected at 19.12.

Using our expert DFS projections, Mahomes ($11,400) is also considered the more valuable play over Herbert ($10,400).

Herbert has struggled with injuries, to himself and offensive weapons, but is expected to have wide receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen after they missed the Week 10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers due to injury.

Joshua Palmer and DeAndre Carter have been Herbert’s top two wideouts with the injuries plaguing the Chargers offense. Williams, who hasn’t played since Week 7, is still their leading receiver with 37 receptions for 495 yards and three touchdowns.

The Chargers will need all the help they can get to counter Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. The KC QB is currently the favorite to win NFL MVP and has hardly skipped a beat despite losing top wideout Tyreek Hill in the offseason. Mahomes led the NFL in passing yards (2,936), touchdowns (25), and was fourth in QB rating (106.1) entering Week 11.

Mahomes will also have the luxury of going up against a Chargers defense that ranks 21st with 356.1 yards allowed per game.

Both Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes will have a good opportunity to put on a show in prime time, but give the slight edge to Mahomes when making your lineups.
