NFL Week 12 Prop Bets: Derek Carr’s Struggles Continue On The Road in Seattle

Week 11 was a down week for interception props, with only nine of 28 starting quarterbacks turning it over through the air. Expect things to change in Week 12, with several teams relying on their backup quarterbacks to step in due to injuries. Today’s article will focus on the Raiders-Seahawks and Chargers-Cardinals matchups.

While Derek Carr has played well over the past few weeks, all his issues through the air have come on the road. Kyler Murray will get the start for Arizona after missing the past two weeks with a hamstring injury. Will he be able to lead the charge for the Cardinals and secure a win at home after starting with the worst home record in the NFL? Let’s dive into the best NFL player props on Sunday.

Best Week 12 NFL Player Props

Las Vegas Raiders at Seattle Seahawks

The Raiders travel to Seattle to face off with the Seahawks on Sunday. Vegas snapped a 3-game losing streak last Sunday, defeating the Denver Broncos 22-16 in overtime. There’s no reason to think the Raiders are going to be in this football game. They hold a 3-7 record on the year, with two of their three wins over Denver. The Seahawks enter Sunday with a 6-4 record and are coming off a bye in Week 11.

Seattle will have to make it a priority to try and stop Jacobs, especially knowing quarterback Derek Carr only has one realistic option at wide receiver in Davante Adams. Seattle ranks 25th in yards rushing allowed on the season. They have had an extra week to prepare coming off a bye, so hopefully, Pete Carroll will have this team prepared. Seattle’s defense has seven interceptions and 27 sacks on the year ranking middle of the pack in both stats. They have shown improvements from the start of the season. The Las Vegas offensive line is one of the worst in the entire NFL and Carroll will look to attack this weakness forcing Carr to make quick decisions through the air.

The Raiders receiving corps is banged up. Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller are sidelined on the IR. Carr has not had many weapons to work with outside of Adams. Despite the injuries to his receivers, Carr has impressed going three straight games with two touchdowns and no interceptions. This has only translated to one win in those three games. Carr has struggled this season away from home. He has 15 touchdowns and five interceptions on the season, with all five interceptions thrown on the road. Carr has only played one game in his career in Seattle where he finished with two interceptions. He is averaging 34.8 attempts per game, and his current attempts line is set at 35.5. Knowing Seattle is one of the tougher stadiums to play in on the road and seeing Carr’s struggles away from home, take him to throw at least one interception in this Week 12 matchup.

Best NFL Player Prop: Derek Carr Prop Bet: OVER 0.5 Interceptions

Los Angeles Chargers at Arizona Cardinals

The Chargers are visiting the Cardinals on Sunday at State Farm Stadium. The Chargers have lost 2 straight games, recently suffering a 30-27 defeat at the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cardinals lost 38-10 to the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City on Monday. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury is feeling the pressure as talks begin around the league about him being one of the next coaches to be fired. The Cardinals have lost three of their last four games but should benefit from getting Kyler Murray back in the lineup after missing the last two weeks nursing a hamstring injury. It will be interesting to watch and see if Murray is playing at 100%. He is a dual-threat quarterback, but if his running game is hampered any bit by his hamstring, the Chargers can attack.

The Chargers defense allowing 148.4 yards rushing (30th) and 220.6 passing per game (19th). Despite ranking 30th in yards rushing allowed per game, they have only allowed eight touchdowns rushing this season. The Cardinals are not a major threat on the ground, and it is anyone’s guess if Murray’s hamstring will hamper his rushing ability. While Arizona is predominately a passing offense, they will likely lean on a higher dosage of James Conner early on. Conner hasn’t posted elite numbers due to injuries and limited opportunities, but he should have a chance to show out in Week 12.

The issue for Arizona is they have been one of the worst first-half teams in the league averaging a lousy 9.2 points per game in the first half this season. This poor scoring causes them to consistently play from behind. Murray has 12 touchdowns and six interceptions on the season. Murray averages 6.0 yards per passing attempt – 34th in the league. The interceptions come when he attempts the deep ball or throws under pressure. Murray has 23 interceptions in 29 games with DeAndre Hopkins at wideout.

The Chargers defense started the season out strong, with seven interceptions in their first seven games. However, it has failed to pick one off in its last three outings. Today is a get-right spot for this secondary against Murray and the Cardinals. It is hard to trust a scrambling quarterback in the first game back from a hamstring injury. Take Murray to throw an interception against the Chargers on Sunday.
