ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday night that it is not considered long-term, though the Raiders declined comment and gave no timeline. Kalshi's NFL award markets had already voted before the team said a word. Traders roughly halved Jeanty's Offensive Player of the Year price, rushed into his rookie backup Mike Washington Jr., then gave most of that panic back before midnight. The play was ordinary. During Sunday's training camp practice Jeanty dove for a low throw from Kirk Cousins and landed awkwardly, per ESPN. He could not put weight on his right leg as trainers helped him off, and the team offered no details on severity.
The stakes are plain. Jeanty was the No. 6 overall pick in 2025, ran for 975 yards as a rookie, and is the centerpiece of new head coach Klint Kubiak's run-first offense. Beat writers spent Sunday evening waiting on the team's first real word. The order flow did not wait.

How Hard Did Traders Hit Jeanty's Award Price?
His Offensive Player of the Year contract lost half its bid, sliding from 2 cents to 1. Nearly half the market's lifetime volume, 18,753 contracts, traded in that one day. Traders sold the injured starter and bought the healthy backup.
Jahmyr Gibbs leads the OPOY board, with Bijan Robinson and Ja'Marr Chase behind him, so Jeanty was a long shot before the injury. This award also punishes missed time more than most. Why Did A Fourth-Round Rookie's Contract Explode?
Mike Washington Jr. took the rest of the first-team reps after Jeanty went down. He is a fourth-round pick out of Arkansas, a downhill runner who averaged 6.2 yards on nine preseason carries. Before the injury his Offensive Rookie of the Year contract was a forgotten penny market: no bid, 1 cent asked, about 9,600 contracts traded in its whole existence. A contract pays $1 if the named player wins, so a penny price is the market filing a name under nobody's pick.
In the day after Jeanty was helped off, the Washington market traded 75,528 contracts, 89% of everything it has ever traded. It was the busiest name on any of Kalshi's NFL award boards that day, on the same rookie board the Jordyn Tyson injury had already rattled. The 6 p.m. row is the panic. With the first reports circulating, 47,180 contracts traded and the price ran from a penny to 9 cents, more than the market's entire previous life. That print was priced off the sight of a franchise back unable to stand on his right leg.
The 11 p.m. row is the correction. As the ankle-sprain reporting spread, traders walked the price back to 2 cents, and by early Monday Washington sat at 2 cents bid, 4 cents asked. The panic came and went before most fantasy players woke up.
Is Washington A Real Rookie Of The Year Contender?
No, and the market never said he was. Even on his busiest day, Washington's ask did not reach half the bid on the top tier of Kalshi's rookie of the year board. Fernando Mendoza led at 13 cents bid and 14 asked. Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price, Carnell Tate and De'Zhaun Stribling all sat in the 11-to-15-cent band. The market moved Washington from "not a consideration" to "worth a number," and no further.
Read the two boards together and the message about Jeanty is measured. If traders believed his season was in danger, his OPOY contract would have no bid left and Washington would be trading near that 9-cent panic print instead of the 2-cent bid he settled at. Instead the market priced a scare with a wide error bar and gave most of Sunday's fear back by midnight. The first price after an injury scare is adrenaline, and the price 12 hours later is information.
Is Jeanty Playing Week 1 Against Miami?
As of Aug. 24 nobody could say. The Raiders had not commented beyond the practice-field scene, and the reporting said only that the sprain is not considered long-term. The first hard answer is the Raiders' injury report before the Sept. 13 opener against Miami, a game with its own live Kalshi market that reads differently if a rookie is starting at running back.
If the sprain heals on schedule, Sunday becomes a footnote. Jeanty resumes carrying a Raiders win total built on a heavy workload, and Washington's contract drifts back toward the penny it came from. If setbacks appear, these two quotes will show it hours before the written reports do, the way both of Sunday's moves did.
