The Longest Shot On This Board Might Be The Best-Kept Secret

Douglas's 2+ touchdown contract is priced at 1¢/2¢ as of Wednesday, September 9, 2026, 11:35 AM ET. That's about as close to free as this board gets, and I don't think it should be.

Here's the mechanism. Everyone in New England's building has spent the week talking about AJ Brown, and Seattle's defense has to answer for it. CBS Sports and SI.com both frame Devon Witherspoon drawing the tough assignment on Brown as one of the season's real matchups, not a footnote. That's attention Seattle's defense is spending somewhere, and it isn't on the slot.

The slot is where Douglas lives, and he's shown real chemistry with Drake Maye all camp, not a hope. In the Patriots' August 7 intrasquad scrimmage, Douglas caught six passes for two touchdowns, including a 50-yard score after getting behind the safety (Patriots.com, Boston Globe, Yahoo Sports). Separately, SI.com covered an off-platform scramble touchdown from Maye to Douglas during an 11-on-11 period as "the play of Patriots training camp." Two different practices, same conclusion: when Maye needs a target he trusts, Douglas is the one he's finding.

I'm on Douglas at 2¢. Play him up to 5¢ — past that, the long-shot math stops working in your favor even if the read is right.

What kills it: this whole case leans on Brown pulling Witherspoon's attention specifically, and on Douglas actually seeing enough red-zone or intermediate targets to get two scores, not just volume underneath.
