Kalshi prices and sportsbook lines as of Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
The Chargers are the second team in NFL history to lose back-to-back home games by double digits, as double-digit favorites on the opening line, to teams that had losing records the year before. Josh Allen is putting up historic numbers on the other side. Nobody likes the Chargers, and that is not the reason to take them. The reason is that this is their season, right now, in Week 3, and I am sprinkling on the points: Chargers +7.
Kickoff: Sunday, September 27, 1:00 PM ET, Highmark Stadium
The Game Lines
Kalshi in cents, bid and ask. Sportsbook column is the consensus line.
| Line | Kalshi | Sportsbooks |
|---|---|---|
| Spread: Bills Win By 7 Or More | 55-56¢ | Bills −7 |
| Total: Over 50.5 Points | 47-48¢ | 50.5 |
| Moneyline: Bills Win | 75-76¢ | Bills -345 / Chargers +275 |
The number is 7, and if you can find 7.5 anywhere, take it. On Kalshi, Buffalo winning by seven or more is 55 to 56 cents, and the Bills to win outright is 75 to 76, about -300. The over at 50.5 is 47 to 48 cents, and that total is the second highest on the slate for a reason that has nothing to do with the Chargers' offense.
Where The Edges Are
| Matchup | Chargers | Bills | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chargers run game vs Bills run D | 31st | 22nd | Bills D |
| Chargers passing game vs Bills pass D | 27th | 28th | even |
| Chargers pass protection vs Bills pass rush | 25th | 4th | Bills D, clearly |
| Chargers explosive plays vs Bills big-play D | 28th | 24th | even |
| Bills run game vs Chargers run D | 8th | 3rd | Bills O |
| Bills passing game vs Chargers pass D | 25th | 1st | Bills O, clearly |
| Bills pass protection vs Chargers pass rush | 12th | 10th | even |
| Bills explosive plays vs Chargers big-play D | 16th | 1st | Bills O, clearly |
Ranks out of 32 through Week 2 of 2026, nflverse play-by-play. Run game = EPA per carry, passing = EPA per dropback, protection = sacks-plus-hits rate against pressure rate, explosive = rate of completions of 20-plus. O = that offense has the edge, D = the defense does.
Chargers, best: ypa (14th), explosive runs (16th), ypc allowed (2nd). Worst: rushing efficiency (31st), offense overall (30th), pass rush (28th).
Bills, best: scoring (1st), offense overall (1st), run stuffs (1st). Worst: pass protection (10th), rushing yards (7th), pass defense yards (29th).
Two Layups, Two Losses, And The Hardest Schedule In The League
Los Angeles lost 26-14 at home to the Raiders as a 6.5-point favorite, its fourth straight non-cover. Justin Herbert was 15 of 27 for 192 with two interceptions, 1 of 5 on deep balls, and took eight hits behind a line that has not held up even with its starters back. The offense had a 36% success rate and three turnovers; Omarion Hampton (23 for 94 and a score) was the only thing that worked. The defense was fine against the run (2.3 a carry) and leaked four completions of 20-plus, two of them to Tre Tucker.
Whatever the reason, Jim Harbaugh's philosophy or Mike McDaniel's, it is bad, and it is about to get worse. Pull up the schedule after this game: it is the toughest two-month stretch of any team in the league, and it is not close. The Chargers had two layups to open the year and lost both. If they go 0-3 into that stretch, the season is over in September. That is the whole case. Not that they are the better team, not that they are playing well. They are up against the wall, and teams up against the wall keep games competitive.
Historic Allen, A Defense That Has Allowed Thirty Twice
Buffalo beat Detroit 41-31 and covered as a 5.5-point favorite, its third straight cover. The offense ran 66 plays at a 58% success rate, went 9 of 11 on third down, and averaged 6.2 yards a carry with eight runs of 10-plus. James Cook went 21 for 135, Josh Allen ran 11 times for 72 and two touchdowns, and Dalton Kincaid caught 7 of 8 targets for 95. Allen went 1 of 3 deep; this was a ground-and-intermediate game, and it still scored 41.
The defense is the part the market is skipping. Buffalo has allowed 30-plus points in back-to-back games. Detroit averaged 0.23 EPA per play and hit five completions of 20-plus, four to Amon-Ra St. Brown, and the Bills are at 0.14 EPA per play allowed for the season. That is the kind of defense that gives up backdoor covers to offenses that do not deserve them, and it is why the sprinkle is on the points. DJ Moore (shoulder) may not play for Buffalo.
Not To Win
Understand what this is. The Bills are the far superior team, and if you are on Buffalo, I get it completely. The Chargers are not winning this game. The sprinkle is on a team that cannot afford to get blown out, against a defense that has been letting bad offenses score. If they can't claw out of this one and keep it inside a touchdown, the season is over, and they know it.
The Pick
Sprinkle Chargers +7.On Kalshi, that is the Bills not winning by seven or more, 44 to 45 cents.
The points only. Buffalo is the better team by a lot; the number is about the Chargers' season and Buffalo's defense.
Injury Report
- Justin Herbert's protection. Eight hits from the Raiders after eight from Kansas City. The line is the whole problem, and Buffalo's rush got 14 sacks-plus-hits on Goff.
- DJ Moore (BUF). Shoulder, questionable, may not play. Kincaid and Keon Coleman have carried the targets without him.
- Buffalo's defense. 30-plus allowed in back-to-back games, 0.14 EPA per play allowed for the season. That is the backdoor.
- Weather. Upper 60s, wind around 11 miles an hour off the lake, no rain. Nothing in the total.
My picks for the rest of Week 3 are in NFL Week 3 Predictions for Every Game.
Nothing here is financial advice.
