Kalshi prices and sportsbook lines as of Thursday, September 17, 2026. DraftKings betting splits as of Thursday evening; Friday's final injury reports were not out when this was written.
Malik Willis was sacked five times and pressured 17 times in Las Vegas, and the Dolphins are not changing quarterbacks. San Francisco beat the Rams by 20 in Melbourne with a 4.4-yard average depth of target. Everything points to the 49ers rolling, and the number is 13.5. If you just want the pick, it is at the bottom.

Tale of the Tape

Willis Took The Blame, And Kept The Job
Miami lost 27-14 in Las Vegas. Willis went 15 of 27 for 220 with no touchdowns and a pick, a 44% sack-plus-hit rate, a 34% success rate, 2 of 10 on third down and two turnovers. Miami ran it 18 times. De'Von Achane got 11 carries for 36 and four catches for 30. Caleb Douglas caught 5 of 7 for 94. Willis took the blame afterward and Jeff Hafley backed him.
The defense got zero sacks and two hits, forced two turnovers, and held Las Vegas to 4.0 a carry with a 27% stuff rate. Purdy took no sacks from the Rams. This is a clean-pocket game for San Francisco on paper.
Twenty-Seven To Seven, Then A Long Way Home
San Francisco beat the Rams 27-7 in Melbourne and covered as a 3.5-point dog. Brock Purdy went 25 of 34 for 205 and three touchdowns with a pick at a 4.4-yard average depth, took no sacks, and the 49ers used screens on 19% of dropbacks with motion on 79% of snaps. Fifty-six percent success, 5.8 a carry. Kaelon Black ran 14 for 65, McCaffrey 10 for 68 with eight targets. Deebo Samuel and Mike Evans each caught six passes and a touchdown. George Kittle is back.
The defense hit Matthew Stafford eight times with a four-man rush, allowed minus 0.27 EPA a play, and forced two turnovers. De'Zhaun Stribling joins Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall and Christian Kirk on the shelf, so the receiver room is Samuel, Evans and Kittle. And then the Wednesday report: McCaffrey, Trent Williams, Nick Bosa and Dre Greenlaw all did not practice, Kittle limited.
The Backdoor Is Wide Open
I want nothing to do with laying 13.5 in Week 2. Achane can turn one drive into a score, Willis can move, and a backdoor cover at this number is too easy. San Francisco stayed in Australia a long time before coming home, and whatever the acclimation looks like, it is not nothing. The 49ers do not blow teams out through the air either; the passing game is short and efficient.
If San Francisco wins this handily, it can still be 27-14 and the Dolphins cash.
The Number I'd Take
Dolphins +13.5.On Kalshi, that is the 49ers not winning by 14 or more, 51 to 52 cents.
Nobody knows what San Francisco looks like coming back from Australia, and even the worst teams back door a number this big. I am not betting the total.
What Moves The Number From Here
- Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams. Both out of practice for San Francisco. If either sits, 13.5 is a different number.
- Nick Bosa and Dre Greenlaw. Out of practice. Willis took 14 sacks and hits from a full Raiders rush; this is the rush that would do it again.
- George Kittle. Limited. One of three healthy receivers.
- Chop Robinson. Limited for Miami. Purdy took zero sacks last week and Miami got zero.
My picks for the rest of Week 2 are in NFL Week 2 Predictions for Every Game.
Nothing here is financial advice.
