Something is probably wrong right now: an app that will not load, an order that did not fill, money you cannot find. So the support routes come first, and they are short: Kalshi's contact surface is a messenger, an email address, and a help center, with no phone line. Then comes the part no support page will tell you: a large share of what people contact an exchange about is not a support issue at all. It is the market doing exactly what a market does. Knowing which pile your problem is in before you write the ticket is the difference between a ticket support can act on and a complaint no agent can solve. This page sorts the most common complaints into those two piles, one by one.
One thing up front, since this page reviews a venue: we have no affiliate or commercial relationship with Kalshi. Nobody is paying for what follows.
The Quick Answer
The fastest way to reach Kalshi customer service is the support messenger while logged in to your Kalshi account; the backup is emailing support@kalshi.com from the same email address on your account. Kalshi does not offer phone or text support. Below: every official route, the app-not-working checklist in the order to try it, and the sorting that tells you, before you write a ticket, whether a ticket can help at all.
The Real Support Routes
Kalshi's own guidance is that the messenger is the fastest path. A logged-in conversation already knows which account you are writing about, which is why Kalshi points there first.
| Route | Where | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Support Messenger | In the app or on kalshi.com, while logged in | Fastest path for account-specific problems |
| support@kalshi.com, from your account email if possible | When you cannot log in or cannot use the messenger | |
| Help Center | help.kalshi.com | Self-serve answers on deposits and withdrawals, account and security, trading, taxes and documents |
| Discord And X | discord.gg/kalshi and x.com/Kalshi | Finding out whether a problem is widespread (not for tickets) |
The row that matters most is the second one, because it covers the worst case. The messenger needs you logged in, so when you cannot get into the account, email becomes the front door. Kalshi asks that you send it from the same email address on your Kalshi account if possible; if that inbox is part of the problem, put your account email and full name in the body so the team can find you. Kalshi's support page asks for a detailed description, your full name and account email, and screenshots or recordings where possible. Send all of it the first time.
One route you will not find: a phone number. Kalshi says plainly that it does not offer phone call or text support at this time.
What A Ticket Can Fix
Support exists for the things only the operator can touch, and when your problem is on this list, write the ticket now rather than watching it for another day. You cannot log in, or two-factor authentication is failing. Identity verification has been pending far longer than you expected. A deposit left your bank and never credited. A withdrawal shows complete and has not arrived. Your tax documents are wrong or missing. You want your account closed. What unites that list: the state you need to see lives on the operator's side of the ledger. You cannot watch a document check from the outside, and only the operator can trace a transfer between your bank and your balance.
There is one more, and it is rarer and more interesting: a market that settled on data that was actually wrong. Kalshi's rules name the source each contract settles on, and if the exchange misapplies that source, that is a real error and it belongs in a ticket. We have written separately about what happens when a market's outcome is disputed. But notice how narrow that door is. The source itself has to have been misread, which brings us to the pile of complaints that feel identical from the inside and are nothing of the kind.
What Support Cannot Fix, Because Nothing Is Broken
Here are the most common exchange complaints, sorted honestly.
| The Complaint | What actually happened | Worth a ticket? |
|---|---|---|
| "My Order Never Filled" | Nobody agreed to trade at your price | No. Adjust the price, the size, or your patience |
| "The Market Settled Against Me, But The Source Was Right" | The contract did what its rules said it would | No. A ticket is for a misapplied source, not a correct one |
| "The Price Moved Before My Order Matched" | The market repriced while you were in the queue | No. Continuous repricing is the product |
| "My Deposit Vanished" | An operational failure between two ledgers | Yes. That is exactly what support is for |
The settlement complaint is the expensive one, so it deserves the plainest words. A contract that settles against you on a correct source is not an error; it is the entire product. Temperature contracts settle on a specific named weather station, not on the number in your weather app, and the rules named that station and its public data source before you ever traded. The sting is largest on one side of the book: selling an unlikely outcome collects a small premium and risks most of a dollar, and roughly speaking, one loss erases the premiums from about 15 wins. That asymmetry means a losing settlement can wipe out weeks of small green and still be the strategy working exactly as designed. Not a malfunction, and not a case.
The queue complaint is the same lesson at faster speed. A price is a live probability, and it moves whenever information does. If it repriced before your order matched, the market updated before you were filled, not after. That is frustrating, and it is not a fault.
A Worked Example: The "Lost" Order That Was Never Lost
The unfilled order deserves a full walkthrough, because it is the complaint that best shows the difference between broken and working as designed. The numbers are illustrative, but the shape is everyday. Say a temperature contract shows a best bid of 3¢ and a best ask of 7¢, and you place a limit order to buy YES at 4¢. The screen now reads 4 bid, 7 ask, because your order is the best bid in the book, published to the whole market. And then nothing happens. No fill, no error message, nothing to appeal.
That order is not lost. Kalshi is a peer-to-peer exchange, so every fill requires another trader who wants the opposite side at your number, and the cheapest seller anywhere still wants 7¢. You are 3¢ apart on a contract trading around a nickel, a gap of more than half its price. Until one of you moves, there is no trade to be made. Your three options are all trading decisions, not tickets: raise your bid toward 7¢, hold at 4¢ and accept that the fill may never come, or cross the spread with a market order and buy at 7¢ immediately, remembering that an instant fill usually means you paid for it. No support agent can conjure the other side of your trade, and you would not want to trade on a venue where one could.
The sorting rule is simple. If the problem lives between you and the market (a price, a fill, a settlement on a correct source), no ticket will change it. If it lives between you and the operator (access, money movement, documents, a misread source), write the ticket, and write it well.
The App-Not-Working Checklist
"Kalshi app not working" is its own search for a reason, and many cases resolve before support ever hears about them. The order matters; each step rules out the biggest remaining cause.
- Check whether it is just you. Look at Kalshi's X account and Discord. Other traders may be reporting the same thing, though an official post may or may not appear. When the platform itself is having a bad hour, your fastest fix is waiting.
- Try the website. Kalshi runs in the browser too. If kalshi.com works while the app fails, your account and money are fine, and the problem is local to your phone.
- Turn off your VPN. Kalshi offers broad, state-specific availability under federal oversight, which means access depends on where you actually are, and a VPN hides that. Turn it off before you assume the app is broken.
- Force-quit, update, restart. Close the app fully and reopen it, install any pending app or OS update, then restart the phone. Unglamorous, but it clears a surprising number of cases.
- Reinstall the app. Your cash and positions live on the exchange, not on your phone. Deleting the app deletes nothing that matters.
- Then, and only then, the messenger. If it still fails, you now have a strong ticket: what you tried, what device, what happened. Attach a screenshot and send it through the messenger, or email if you cannot get in.
Steps one through five establish whether anything is actually broken. The ticket comes last, and it arrives strong because of what came before it.
The Structure Is The Answer
Kalshi is an exchange: there is no house on the other side of your trade, only other traders, a rulebook, and a fee for matching you. That structure is why nobody can fill your lonely 4¢ order and nobody can un-settle a correct one, and it is the same structure that means Kalshi is matching orders rather than booking the other side the way a sportsbook does. Stokastic trades Kalshi's weather markets and holds positions in them, a strategy we have not yet proven, and our own resting orders have sat unfilled for exactly the reason in the example above. The fix has been the price, not a ticket. For the fuller picture of how these markets work, our weather-markets hub is the place to start.
The durable lesson here is about price, not support: before you pay what the other side is asking, know what the question is worth. That habit transfers directly to sportsbooks, where the same game is priced differently from book to book and reading those quotes side by side is the whole discipline. OddsShopper Pro comes with a free week trial, so you can test the full toolkit before a dollar changes hands, and the code KALSHIHELP20 takes 20% off your first payment if you stay past the trial.
FAQ: Contacting Kalshi
Does Kalshi have a phone number? No. Kalshi states that it does not offer phone call or text support at this time, so any phone number presented anywhere as Kalshi support is not official. Treat one the way you would treat a stranger claiming to be your bank.
Does Kalshi have live chat? The support messenger is the chat: open it in the app or on kalshi.com while logged in. Kalshi says response times vary with volume and the nature of the request, so include the full picture in your first message.
Disclosure and fine print. Stokastic trades Kalshi weather markets and holds positions in them. We have no affiliate or commercial relationship with Kalshi, though we do carry sign-up offers for some other prediction-market and betting platforms. Kalshi weather contracts are CFTC-regulated event derivatives traded on a designated contract market, not sportsbook wagers, and a position can lose its full value. 18+, available where Kalshi operates; the risk of loss is real and, on the side we trade, individually large. This series is an open research log of a strategy we have not yet proven. Nothing here is trading advice, and nothing on this page is a pick or a recommendation.
