Tuesday's WNBA card is three games and one argument. Chicago Sky at Connecticut Sun tips at 7:00 p.m. ET, Portland Fire at Dallas Wings at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBA TV, Washington Mystics at Phoenix Mercury at 10:00 p.m. ET. Our de-vig capture hit at 11:53 p.m. ET Monday and cleared ten usable numbers, nine of them Unders, and seven of the ten sit inside two points of fair. That's the argument: on a board this tight, the price alone doesn't pick your legs, the injury report does. The ticket is Paige Bueckers Under 6.5 assists next to Michaela Onyenwere Under 2.5 rebounds, both at DraftKings. Why those two, and not the third leg that looks tempting, comes down to a test I'm going to run on every number here, and by the time it kills Kamilla Cardoso's Under you'll be able to run it yourself.
Leg 1: Paige Bueckers Under 6.5 Assists
Start with the number, because the number is the argument and the game is the footnote. Strip the vig off every book's two-sided price on Bueckers' assists and the market's own consensus says the Under is the favored side: fair -124, a 55.4% outcome. DraftKings is selling that side at -119, which only needs to hit 54.3% to break even. Read that again, because it's the whole leg: the book is charging you less than the market's consensus for the side the market prefers. It's a +1.9% edge, small on paper, and it's the one kind of small edge I'll build on, the favored side at a discount. You can't see that from a box score. You can only see it by removing the vig from every book at once and reading which side each price is really worth.
The game shape is the supporting note. The market makes Dallas a clear home favorite, and both rosters are three players short on ESPN's feed: Portland without Luisa Geiselsoder, Sarah Ashlee Barker, and Sania Feagin, Dallas without Azzi Fudd (right knee, ruled out August 19 with no return date listed this season), Aziaha James, and Costanza Verona. Every one of those six has been in the price for a while; Fudd's absence is two Dallas games old, and whatever it did to Bueckers' assist line, the market has had two games to price it. So this isn't a usage story, and there's no stats feed behind this card, so I won't invent her assist rate. What the shape adds is a tailwind: an assists prop gets decided in the fourth quarter, and in a game the market expects Dallas to win, the version where Bueckers watches the last few minutes from the bench is a real version. The Under doesn't need her to play badly. It needs the script the market already leans toward.
The honest counter is that Portland doesn't go quietly. The Fire have stayed within a possession of two of their last three opponents, an 88-85 win over Phoenix on August 16 and a 105-100 loss to Washington on Sunday, and Dallas is 4-6 over its last ten. A Portland team that hangs around keeps Bueckers on the floor with the ball in her hands into the final minutes, which is the one script that beats this leg. I'll carry that risk at the price, because the price is what I'm betting; the alternative, an Over on a favorite's point guard in a game she might not finish, is the trap.
Leg 2: Michaela Onyenwere Under 2.5 Rebounds
Leg two is the quiet one, and it's the better price. Onyenwere is a Washington forward whose rebound line sits at 2.5, which tells you the book sees a reserve-sized role. The de-vig says the Under is a 46.1% proposition, fair +117. DraftKings is paying +123, break-even 44.8%, a +2.8% edge, the fattest usable number in this capture. A plus-money Under is a leg that loses more nights than it wins; it's on the ticket because the book is paying more than the loss rate deserves, and because the injury report happens to agree.
Here's the read. As of Monday night, ESPN's injury feed for this game already carries two Phoenix entries and no Mystics entries at all, Shakira Austin included, two days after her day-to-day tag. Read that as the report standing right now, and confirm it before tip: a Washington frontcourt with Austin and Lauren Betts available means a reserve forward gets her boards squeezed from both directions, fewer minutes and fewer loose balls. On Sunday's board the Mystics rebounding story ran through Austin's day-to-day tag; if she stays off the report tonight, the same logic runs the other way for the player behind her. There's a second row on Onyenwere in the same capture that says the same thing: her Under 1.5 threes at -110 against a -116 fair at Hard Rock. Two Unders on one player from one capture are one opinion, that her line has been set a touch high across the board, and the rebound version is the one paying plus money for it.
Remember that phrase, the direction of the news, because it decides the third leg later. Here the news, a Mystics injury report with nobody on it, and the bet point the same way. The Phoenix side barely touches this leg: Marta Suarez was ruled out at 8:23 p.m. ET Monday with a head injury and Sami Whitcomb went day-to-day with a left knee, and neither changes how many rebounds a Mystics reserve gets. What the 10:00 p.m. ET tip does change is your information. Washington's inactives will be the last lineup news of the night, and if a Mystics forward turns up on that list before tip, this leg's logic goes with her. It's a two-minute check before you fire.
The Ticket And The Math: 4.10 Against A 3.92 Fair
Now the payoff. Two legs, two games two hours apart, no shared players, no shared script.
| Leg | Player (Team) | Market | Best Price | Fair Odds | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Paige Bueckers (Wings) | Under 6.5 Assists | -119 (DraftKings) | -124 | +1.9% |
| 2 | Michaela Onyenwere (Mystics) | Under 2.5 Rebounds | +123 (DraftKings) | +117 | +2.8% |
Both prices come from our de-vigged capture of Monday night's board, the same math our WNBA odds screens run on every market they carry: strip the vig off both sides and read what each price is really worth. Here's the worked example:
- Bueckers Under fair probability: 55.4%
- Onyenwere Under fair probability: 46.1%
- Dallas and Washington share nothing tonight, so for pricing I'm treating the two legs as independent: 0.554 × 0.461 = 25.5%
A 25.5% outcome is worth about 3.92 in decimal odds at a fair price. The ticket DraftKings sells, -119 with +123, prices out at 4.10 in decimal odds (1.84 × 2.23). Getting 4.10 on an outcome the math values at 3.92 is the bet: risk $100 and the slip returns about $310 in profit roughly one night in four, which nets out to a +4.7% edge.
That's a modest edge, and I'd rather say so than dress it up. What makes it a bet is what it's made of: both legs are priced in our favor by the de-vig, at one book, in two different games, and neither leg's own team has a day-to-day player listed as of Monday night. A prop is only as live as the lineup card, which is why the confirmations below exist, but nothing here needs a book to stay asleep until tip.
What beats this ticket is simple, and you should know it before you bet it:
- A close game in Dallas that keeps Bueckers on the floor to the final horn.
- A Mystics forward showing up on Washington's inactive list before 10:00 p.m. ET, which hands Onyenwere minutes the line never priced.
The takeaway: a parlay leg has to survive a minutes decision, a lineup card, and a payout the book reprices if the legs touch. Pick legs the injury report pushes toward, not legs it merely allows.
The Third Leg Question And The Hard Rock Version
The number that makes a three-leg build tempting is Kamilla Cardoso Under 28.5 points + rebounds + assists at -108 on DraftKings, fair -109, a 52.2% outcome at essentially the fair price. Same book, different game, so it stacks cleanly: the ticket jumps to about 7.90 in decimal odds (4.10 × 1.93), roughly $690 of profit on $100 against a fair near 7.52, a +5.1% edge that cashes about one night in seven and a half.
| Build | Legs | Book | Ticket (Decimal) | Fair (Decimal) | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Featured | Bueckers U6.5 ast + Onyenwere U2.5 reb | DraftKings | 4.10 | 3.92 | +4.7% |
| Three-Leg | Featured + Cardoso U28.5 PRA | DraftKings | 7.90 | 7.52 | +5.1% |
| Alternative | Onyenwere U1.5 3PT + Kennedy Burke O1.5 3PT | Hard Rock | 4.30 | 4.10 | +4.8% |
I'm not adding Cardoso, and the reason is the phrase from the Onyenwere leg. Cardoso is the Sky's center. On the other side of her game, ESPN lists Brittney Griner out with a left knee, stamped 4:26 p.m. ET Monday, with a listed return date of Tuesday, the day of this game, and Olivia Nelson-Ododa day-to-day with a knee four minutes later. Both of the Sun centers ESPN flags are on the report. Griner is listed out, though the listed return date is the game date, so the final pre-tip status is the thing to confirm. Either way the direction of that news points at more for Cardoso inside, and a leg priced at fair that the injury report argues against isn't an edge with a small number on it. The counter is that a Sky blowout shortens her night too, which is exactly why this is a coin flip. A coin flip cuts the hit rate nearly in half for a fraction of a point of edge. That's why I'm stopping at two legs.
If DraftKings isn't your book, the Hard Rock row gives you the same idea in a different jersey: Onyenwere Under 1.5 threes at -110 (fair -116) next to Kennedy Burke Over 1.5 threes at +125 (fair +120), 4.30 in decimal odds against a 4.10 fair, a +4.8% edge. Burke is a Sun guard, and the leg stands on its price, +125 for a side the market makes +120. The Connecticut frontcourt news, Griner listed out with that same game-date return caveat and Nelson-Ododa day-to-day, is a reasonable nudge toward perimeter looks and nothing firmer. One rule if you go that way: the DraftKings ticket or the Hard Rock ticket, not both. Onyenwere is on each, and two tickets on one opinion is one bet sized twice.
The Rest Of Tuesday's Board
The capture cleared five more usable numbers. Every price below is from the 11:53 p.m. ET Monday capture; shop the current number before betting any of them.
| Player (Team) | Market | Best Price | Fair Odds | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Azurá Stevens (Sky) | Under 10.5 Points | -130 (FanDuel) | -134 | +1.3% |
| Sydney Taylor (Sky) | Under 13.5 Points | -115 (Hard Rock) | -118 | +1.2% |
| Kiki Iriafen (Mystics) | Under 9.5 Rebounds | -117 (DraftKings) | -119 | +0.8% |
| Kahleah Copper (Mercury) | Under 25.5 PRA | -105 (Bet365) | -106 | +0.5% |
| Awak Kuier (Wings) | Under 5.5 Rebounds | -112 (DraftKings) | -113 | +0.4% |
The row that tells the best story is Kahleah Copper's Under, because it's the Cardoso question wearing a different uniform. Phoenix has Suarez out and Whitcomb day-to-day, and the Mercury still have Kelsey Plum, Alyssa Thomas, and DeWanna Bonner to absorb those possessions, so I can't call it a read in either direction. What I can say is that half a point of edge doesn't pay me to be Under on the star when the news on her team leans the other way, so it's a pass. The Stevens and Taylor Unders are the two Sky scoring lines that come back a hair better than fair, with Skylar Diggins still out for Chicago (right knee, listed return August 29); that's a shade of value and nothing more, so take either as a standalone if you like the price. Iriafen's Under is the row to avoid if you're on the featured ticket: she and Onyenwere are Mystics forwards in the same game, and two Washington rebound Unders is one bet that the Mystics get outrebounded, made twice.
Here's what the shape of this board tells you, and it's the desk rule this series runs on. A three-game card means thin prop menus, and thin menus get posted tight: seven of the ten usable rows here sit under two points of edge, which on a capture this size is noise, not a signal. When one or two rows clear two points, this series fires two legs. When three independent rows clear it, on different teams, at one book, it fires three. Tuesday has two rows over the bar, Onyenwere's rebounds and threes, and they're the same opinion. That's a two-leg night by rule, before the injury report even gets a vote.
Three more rows are off the page. Two, both on Courtney Vandersloot's rebounds, came back with an edge so large it failed the sanity check: two prices that don't add up to a full market. That's a data problem, so they stay off until the book's actual posted line is confirmed. The third came through the same mapping without a player's name attached and carries less than a quarter-point of edge, which isn't worth the risk of naming it wrong. When a de-vig hands you a number that looks too good, that's the first thing to check, and it's the reason the tool shows you the fair on both sides instead of just the edge.
How To Bet It: Shop, Size, Confirm
The build takes two minutes once the reads are set. Drop both legs into the parlay builder, let it hold the combined number against the de-vigged fair price, and fire only if the ticket still clears fair at the prices you're actually offered. Because this is a cross-game build at one book, the posted price should sit right at the 4.10 multiply; if your DraftKings numbers have drifted off -119 and +123, the builder re-grades the slip in real time. On a Monday-night capture for a Tuesday card, drift is the base case.
Two confirmations, in order of tip. Dallas' inactive report before 8:00 p.m. ET is the Bueckers leg; the Under wants her healthy and the game going the favorite's way, so a surprise Wings scratch that makes it a closer game is the thing to look for. Washington's report before 10:00 p.m. ET is the Onyenwere leg, and the check is simple: any Mystics forward on the list changes her minutes, and her minutes are the whole read.
Size it smaller than the number makes you feel. Full Kelly on this math lands near 1.5% of bankroll; I treat that as a ceiling and live at quarter-Kelly, right around 0.4% of bankroll, per the bankroll rules that keep a parlay column alive through the three-in-four losing nights.
| If Your Bankroll Is | Quarter-Kelly stake (rounded) |
|---|---|
| $500 | $2 |
| $1,000 | $4 |
| $2,500 | $9 |
Before you fire, the whole article collapses to four lines:
- DraftKings still at -119 on Bueckers Under 6.5 and +123 on Onyenwere Under 2.5, or better. Worse on either leg, re-grade in the builder; a ticket below 3.92 is a pass.
- Dallas and Washington inactives read, no new Wings or Mystics names.
- Quarter-Kelly, about 0.4% of bankroll, and not a dollar more.
- The DraftKings ticket or the Hard Rock ticket, never both.
I post my own card on my Tails expert page, and that's where tonight's slip and its grade will live, win or lose. Zoom back out and Tuesday's board rewards one discipline: reading the injury report for direction. The two legs that made the ticket are small numbers the news pushes toward. The two that looked tempting, Cardoso and Copper, are fair prices the news leans against, and the one I keep coming back to is the Onyenwere leg, the smallest name on the page, because it's the only number here where the injury report, the second market on the same player, and the price all say the same thing. For the single-leg crowd, the last graded board in this series is Sunday's WNBA best bets, and the Aug. 19 and Aug. 17 editions are cleaner versions of a cross-game build if you want the contrast.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the WNBA parlay of the day for Tuesday, August 25? A two-leg cross-game ticket at DraftKings: Paige Bueckers Under 6.5 assists (-119) in Fire-Wings and Michaela Onyenwere Under 2.5 rebounds (+123) in Mystics-Mercury. It pays 4.10 in decimal odds against a fair price near 3.92, roughly a +4.7% edge and about $310 profit on $100.
Why is Paige Bueckers Under 6.5 assists the lead leg if the edge is only +1.9%? Because the de-vig says the Under is the market's favored side at 55.4%, and DraftKings is selling it at a 54.3% break-even, cheaper than the market's own consensus. The game shape is a tailwind: Dallas is a clear home favorite, and if the Wings' point guard sits the final minutes of a game Dallas is winning, the Under wins on minutes rather than on her play.
Which sportsbook has the best price on this WNBA parlay? DraftKings has both featured legs at the best captured prices, -119 on Bueckers and +123 on Onyenwere. If you don't have DraftKings, the Hard Rock alternative is Onyenwere Under 1.5 threes (-110) with Kennedy Burke Over 1.5 threes (+125), 4.30 against a 4.10 fair. Play one ticket or the other, not both.
Should I add Kamilla Cardoso Under 28.5 PRA as a third leg? No. It stacks cleanly at DraftKings and lifts the paper edge to +5.1%, but both Sun centers ESPN flags are on the report: Griner is listed out, though her listed return date is the game date, so confirm the final pre-tip status, and Nelson-Ododa is day-to-day. Either way that news points toward more production for the Sky's center. A fair-priced leg the injury news leans against adds variance without adding edge.
How much should I bet on this parlay? Quarter-Kelly on this math is about 0.4% of bankroll, $4 on a $1,000 roll, and I treat that as an upper bound. It's still a parlay: even at a favorable price, it loses about three times in four, so size for the losing streaks that come with one-in-four bets.
