Kalshi's next-club board priced Bradley Barcola as a Liverpool player on August 27, hours after Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain reached an agreement in principle on a package worth about £120 million. The Liverpool contract bid 97 cents with nobody willing to sell, and the contract that pays if he stays at PSG fell to a 4-cent ask with no buyer behind it. The medical and paperwork were still pending that afternoon, and that gap is what the market was holding back for.

Why Did The Price Jump?
The agreement was the last step of a month-long walk, not a surprise. Per ESPN's reporting of the deal, Barcola, a France forward, refused a PSG contract extension in late July and was then left out of PSG matchday squads, including the draw with Rennes that opened their Ligue 1 season.
PSG opened the summer valuing him around £145 million and came down to the £120 million the clubs settled on. That figure is an initial fee of about £100 million plus roughly £20 million in add-ons, on a five-year contract framework.
Completed, it would make him Liverpool's second-most expensive signing, behind only the £125 million paid to Newcastle for Alexander Isak last summer. The board walked the same path in prices. When our transfer hub last rebuilt in mid-August, the Liverpool contract traded near 60 cents, a favorite that still left the PSG stay holding a real price. It closed Wednesday at 78 and bid 97 by Thursday afternoon, with each reporting beat lining up with a step of that climb.
The PSG contract was the mirror image, falling from 33 cents at Wednesday's close to a 4-cent ask on Thursday. Two legs of one board moving as reflections of each other is what a real move looks like. When the legs disagree, one of them is mispriced.
What The Last Three Cents Were For
Each contract on this board resolves yes if that club is Barcola's next club before October 2, 2026. Kalshi's terms are broader than a completed transfer: a signing counts whether by fee or free agency, a loan counts as joining the loan club, and a signing followed by an immediate loan out still pays the signing club. The PSG contract is the stay, paying if he re-signs, extends, or simply remains without transferring. If nothing has resolved by October 2, the contracts close out by October 9.
Three things kept the bid short of a settled dollar. The medical and paperwork were not done, and agreements at this stage of a window have collapsed before. The Premier League window closed September 1, which compressed the execution risk into days. And because the board ran to October 2, the 4-cent PSG ask was roughly what a failed medical with no replacement move was worth, while the penny asks elsewhere priced an open window somewhere outside England.
The Bottom Line
On August 27 the market treated Barcola to Liverpool as all but done, and the window has since shut on whatever was left to price.
