Rafael Leao's cent-and-a-half leader is real: his reported destination, Galatasaray, is not on his ladder. Six boards left the table since the last edition, settled: Romelu Lukaku (Fenerbahce), Ferran Torres (PSG), Cristian Romero (Atletico), Rodri (Barcelona), Savinho (Tottenham) and Dusan Vlahovic, whose listed contracts all paid No. One joined it: Enzo Fernandez, a new listing with Manchester City at 80.5 cents over the Chelsea stay.
What Happened With Alvarez?
Alvarez was left out of Atletico's squad for the Sevilla match, a decision Diego Simeone confirmed publicly, then missed a third straight training session, and Atletico set him a deadline to choose between staying and joining Arsenal. ESPN reported the clubs had discussed a fee around 150 million euros, and Atletico put out a statement that he would never be sold to Barcelona.
The board priced every piece of that. In about a day the Atletico stay ran from the low 50s to 71, on real volume across all three legs. Arsenal fell from around 40 to the low teens, and Barcelona, the board's most heavily traded destination for weeks, sat bid in single digits. Read literally, the board said the standoff ends with Alvarez in red and white, which is how these usually end when the selling club holds the deadline days from the close.
Which Boards Couldn't the Market Call?
Ferran Torres's board taught this page its lesson: a thin Atletico-or-Barcelona flip swung to PSG within days and settled there on August 15, at a club neither side of the flip had named. When every listed contract goes cheap at once, the answer usually lives off the ladder. The market re-learned that twice in deadline week.
Rafael Leao: every listed club under 3 cents. Milan and Galatasaray reached a reported 45-million-euro agreement, per Gianluca Di Marzio, and Leao has said his goodbyes to Milan. Galatasaray is not among the 13 listed clubs, so the AC Milan stay traded at a cent and a half and no listed club was asked above 3 cents. Unless the deal collapses, this board goes where Vlahovic's went: every contract settles No.
Enzo Fernandez: Manchester City 80.5 vs Chelsea 21.5. Sky Sports reported City missed Chelsea's mid-August deadline to bid, with Chelsea valuing the midfielder around 120 million pounds, and later reporting had City preparing a fresh attempt before the window shut. The market priced the move as four-to-one likely on a two-contract board before any bid was agreed.
Jean-Philippe Mateta: Crystal Palace 66, and falling. The one stay on the page that got cheaper, drifting from 73 to 66 with Manchester United's contract behind it. Every other surviving stay hardened toward the high 90s.
Neymar: Santos 82. The move-away story died. Santos climbed from 67 to 82 while Inter Miami's book went wide.
David Alaba: Serie A 33 vs Premier League 16.5 vs Bundesliga 16.5. Still a league board without a country, and the Serie A leader softened from 41. No reported deal was forcing the market's hand.

The graded record is two-for-two, and both open disagreements moved toward the panel. On Alvarez, the panel blended the Atletico stay at 74.7 percent on August 9, when the market had it at 59 and Barcelona at 38. Three weeks later the market sat within a few cents of both frozen numbers; the news cycle walked to where the models already stood.
On Ronaldo's long board, which settles in September 2027, the panel's most likely single answer was a club not listed at all, while the market ran LA Galaxy up to 38.5 cents. The Galaxy contract has since collapsed to single digits and nothing on the ladder trades above 10. Did the Priced-as-Done Boards Pay?
Of the six boards settled since mid-August, five paid the market leader at our last edition's prices: Lukaku to Fenerbahce, Torres to PSG, Romero to Atletico, Rodri to Barcelona, and Savinho to Tottenham from a thin book. Rodri's was this page's cautionary tale, the deepest board on the exchange drifting from 88 to 81.5 on real volume while the market treated the question as answered. It settled August 20 at the answer.
Vlahovic's board, which we called "not a race so much as a shrug," paid nobody: every listed club settled No and holders of any Yes contract got nothing. The surviving called set then hardened. Barcola to Liverpool and Bouaddi to Manchester City sat a point from certain, with a wall of stays from Vitinha and Haaland down through Kane and Endrick.
The Bottom Line
The window closed with one live race and a wall of boards the market had already called, and the settlement wave backed that confidence: the favorite paid five times in six. Alvarez's board carried more volume than the rest of the table combined and finished the window within a few cents of the panel's frozen read. Leao's board is the other half of the lesson: a ladder can be entirely wrong, and the price says so before the announcement does.
