Kalshi's market on Mohamed Salah's next club is finished. Not "effectively finished." Finished: the exchange closed it early on August 7, 2026 and paid it out the same afternoon, six weeks after the leading contract was trading at 12 cents. This page is the receipt. It carries the eight-model, price-blind panel we ran at 8:01 a.m. ET on settlement day, the full board with the exchange's own resolution beside every listed contract, and the six-week price path that is the actual reason to read a settled market. One thing to watch for as you go: the number that made money on this board was never the 99, and it did not print in August.
The Quick Answer
Salah's next club is Trabzonspor of the Turkish Super Lig, a two-year free-transfer deal through June 2028 that the club announced on August 6, 2026. Kalshi's "any Turkish Super Lig club" contract had already printed 99 cents on August 5, a day before the announcement, and the exchange settled that contract Yes at 4:18 p.m. ET on August 7, taking the board with it; the other seven leagues all resolved No. Our eight-model panel, run price-blind at 8:01 a.m. ET that same day, blended to 98.1% on the winner. The full board with settlement results, the seat-by-seat table, and the week in July where this contract was actually cheap are below.

Prices below are the August 7, 2026 candlestick closes, the benchmark the panel was graded against, with the exchange's settlement beside them. Kalshi's own last-trade field for the Turkish Super Lig contract reads 98¢, one cent under the close, so expect that if you pull the market up yourself. Settlement data re-fetched from Kalshi on August 14, 2026.
The Board
| Outcome | Aug 7 Close | AI Blend | Kalshi Settlement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Any Turkish Super Lig Club | 99¢ | 98.1% | Yes, paid $1.00 |
| No New Club Recognized By Oct 2, 2026 | not a listed contract | 1.2% | panel-only residual, never an exchange contract; did not happen |
| Any Saudi Pro League Club | 1¢ | 0.5% | No, $0 |
| Any English Premier League Club | 1¢ | 0.1% | No, $0 |
| Any Serie A Club | 1¢ | 0.1% | No, $0 |
| Any La Liga Club | 1¢ | 0.1% | No, $0 |

| Any Bundesliga Club | 1¢ | 0.0% | No, $0 |
| Any Ligue 1 Club | 1¢ | 0.0% | No, $0 |
The line worth staring at is the second one: the panel's largest single pocket of doubt, 1.2%, was not a rival club at all. It was the possibility that no next club got recognized in time. That residual is the thread running through the rest of this page, because it is the only thing on the board that was ever uncertain, and it is the thing that resolved fastest.

The Market At A Glance
| Venue | Kalshi |
| The Event | "Mohamed Salah: Next Club (League)" (Kalshi event KXJOINLEAGUE-26OCT02MSALAH), 8 league contracts, about 88,800 contracts of lifetime matched volume |
| The Contract | Each league reads: "If Mohamed Salah's next club is any [league] club before Oct 2, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes." Free transfers and loans both count as joining; the question is the league of his next club, not the club itself. |
| The Trigger | Salah signed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor on August 6, 2026 (club-announced, through June 2028, free transfer after his Liverpool deal was mutually terminated a year early). Trabzonspor plays in the Turkish Super Lig. |
| Settled | August 7, 2026. Kalshi recorded the occurrence at 3:57 p.m. ET, closed the board early at 4:12 p.m. ET under the market's early-close condition, and finalized settlement at 4:18 p.m. ET — nearly two months ahead of the October 2 expected expiration. |
| Final Open Interest | About 34,000 contracts across the eight leagues at close, roughly 7,700 of them on the Turkish Super Lig line |
| Panel Ran | August 7, 2026 at 8:01 a.m. ET (12:01 UTC, per our verdict ledger), price-blind, about eight hours before the exchange recognized the signing |
What The Models Were Given
The card carried the settlement language, the signing, and the career context, all dated and sourced: Salah, 34, left Liverpool this summer after nine years, 257 goals in 442 appearances, two Premier League titles and a Champions League; the Liverpool contract was terminated by mutual agreement a year early, making him a free agent; and on August 6 he completed the Trabzonspor move in front of the airport crowds. The panel's instruction was blunt: this is completed business, so price the partition as a settlement question, and if you keep any residual risk, name its concrete mechanism. Nobody on the panel saw a price, and nobody knew the exchange would settle before the day was out. The blended percentages carry rounding, so the partition sums to 100.1 rather than exactly 100.
Every Seat's Number
The blend is the equal-weight mean of the eight models' round-two numbers, generated after each model read the others' anonymized round-one reasoning and could revise. All eight seats returned in both rounds.

A dash means the seat left that league at zero. The panel: Claude Fable, Claude Opus, Claude Sonnet, ChatGPT, Gemini Pro, Kimi, GLM, and DeepSeek, each pricing the full partition in one pass on August 7, 2026, without seeing any prices. DeepSeek was the only seat to price the outcome at a flat 100 and, on the settlement that arrived hours later, the only seat that turned out to have nothing to apologize for.
Every seat on this panel is graded against real market settlements — records to date: Claude Fable 83% on 526 graded calls · Claude Opus 85% on 596 graded calls · Claude Sonnet 84% on 574 graded calls · GPT 84% on 5,566 graded calls · Gemini 86% on 4,337 graded calls · Kimi 83% on 2,363 graded calls · GLM 81% on 2,385 graded calls · DeepSeek 80% on 2,410 graded calls. Recomputed daily; the full scoreboard is public.
Boards from the same panel that are still open, quoted August 14: Cristiano Ronaldo next club, where no contract clears 18¢ and LA Galaxy now leads · Erling Haaland next club, Manchester City stay 94¢ · Steph Curry next team, stays with Golden State or retires, 94¢.
The Six-Week Price Ride: How A Transfer Saga Trades
Here is the promise from the top, paid off. The most instructive thing on this board is its own history, pulled straight from the exchange's daily candlesticks. The Turkish Super Lig contract closed at 12 cents on June 24, when Salah's free agency was an open question across four continents. On July 18 it exploded from 19 to 70 cents in a single day, the market's first conviction that Turkey was the real destination. Then came the doubt window: by July 31 it had bled all the way back to 32 cents, before snapping to 73 on August 2, wobbling to 51 on August 4, and closing at 99 cents on August 5, the same day beIN reported Salah was "closing in" on Trabzonspor and a full day before the official announcement.
Do the arithmetic on the dip rather than the finish. Buying at the July 31 close of 32 cents and holding to settlement turned every 32 cents into a dollar in seven days, a little over three times the stake before fees. Note the word close: a daily candlestick print is where the market traded, not a promise you would have been filled there. The risk was priced honestly at the time: the contract had just fallen 40 cents across four straight sessions, from 72 on July 27 to 32 on July 31. That is the whole texture of transfer markets in one price path: rumor spikes, doubt retraces, and a final sprint to certainty that beats the press release by a day. The 99-cent print everyone remembers was the receipt, not the trade.
What Was Left To Argue About
With the signing done, the revision round became a debate about how close to 100 an honest forecaster can go. DeepSeek planted the flag at a flat 100: the residual "cites no specific mechanism, precedent, or irregularity in this transfer. It is a generic tail-risk placeholder." Claude Opus held at 96 from the other side, arguing settlement mechanics "themselves have a nonzero failure rate." Claude Fable split the difference and named the class: "post-announcement voidings and exchange-recognition failures" are real but "historically vanishingly rare after an official unveiling with fans at the airport." Claude Sonnet made the round's only rival-league allocation change, moving a trace 0.4% to the Saudi Pro League after two peers argued that if the deal somehow collapsed, the Saudi market is the one with "the appetite and cash to move fast." Note what nobody argued: that any rival league was live on the merits. The 1-cent EPL, Serie A, and MLS contracts were floor prices on a question that had been answered.
The Two Failure Modes, Graded
On a settled board the dark horses are failure modes, not clubs, and the exchange retired both of the ones the panel named:
- Recognition Lag (1.2% Blend). This was the panel's largest pocket of doubt, and it died the same afternoon. The exchange had not flipped the settlement flag at 8:01 a.m., and multiple seats stressed that the delay is "administrative lag, not information." They were right in a way they could not have known: Kalshi recorded the occurrence at 3:57 p.m. ET, about eight hours after the verdicts were written, and had the money paid out 21 minutes after that. The seats that reserved the most for it, Kimi and GLM at 2.0 apiece, paid the most for the caution.
- Saudi Pro League (0.5%). The double-stacked scenario: the Trabzonspor deal would have to unwind first, and then a Saudi club would have to be the fastest replacement. GLM kept a token 1 on it for exactly that sequencing. It settled No at zero.
Where The Panel Changed Its Mind
Barely, which is itself the finding. Six of eight seats held their round-one numbers and said so with reasons; the two moves were Sonnet's 0.4-point Saudi allocation and GLM nudging its Turkish number from 95 to 97 after peers convinced it that spreading residual across rival leagues "is double-stacked (requires both a collapse AND a specific replacement)." When a panel that revises aggressively on our open boards refuses to move here, that is the revision round working: there was nothing left to learn. Only one of the two movers moved toward the outcome that settled: GLM went to Turkey, while Sonnet's trace allocation went to the Saudi Pro League, which paid zero.
How The Panel Graded
The board resolved hours after the verdicts were written, so this is a rare same-day grade:
- The Blend Was Right And Unremarkable. 98.1% on an outcome that happened, against a market at 99¢. Being right about a 99-cent contract earns nobody a trophy; the read is that both the panel and the exchange had already done the work by the time the sun came up on August 7.
- No Seat Came In Under 96 On The Winner. The spread between the most confident seat and the least was four points, Opus at 96 to DeepSeek at 100. Consensus that tight is only meaningful when the question is closed, which this one was.
- The Residual Was Mispriced In The Right Direction. The 1.2% "no recognized club" pocket and the 0.5% Saudi pocket both went to zero within hours. On a board where the answer is known, hedging costs accuracy; the seats that hedged least scored best.
- The Real Test Was Never Here. A panel earns its record on open boards, and the honest place to check ours is the public scoreboard, where this call sits alongside the ones that were close.

How To Read These Prices
A 99-cent contract pays one cent of gross profit per dollar at settlement, and then the fee comes off that same penny. Run Kalshi's published formula, round up(0.07 x C x P x (1-P)), on this exact trade and your order size decides whether it is a trade at all. One contract at 99¢ generates a fee of $0.000693, which the schedule rounds up to a full cent: your penny of profit and your penny of fee cancel, and you have parked capital for nothing. A hundred contracts at 99¢ produce $0.07 in fees against $1.00 of gross profit, so you keep 93 cents on $99 at risk, a shade under 1%. Our Kalshi fees breakdown walks the whole curve; the short version is that the round-up punishes small orders at extreme prices, which is exactly where a settled-looking market lives.
Then there is the clock, which was never yours. In the version of this story everyone expected, that penny took eight weeks; in the version that happened, it took two days. Same penny, wildly different annualized math, and nothing you did caused either. Prediction markets and sportsbooks price this kind of near-certainty very differently, and our prediction markets vs sportsbooks board tracks that spread daily.
The better lesson from this board is the callback: the market had Turkey at 70 cents 19 days before the announcement and at 32 cents six days before it, and the paid-for information was in the July dip, not the August print. That is transferable, because the phases repeat. Of the three open boards this panel runs, Ronaldo's is the only one still in the phase where the Salah lesson applies: nothing above 18 cents, no conviction priced in, the same shape as Turkey at 12 cents in June. Haaland at 94 cents and Curry at 94 cents are already past the interesting part, sitting roughly where Salah sat on August 5.
The Bottom Line
Salah went to Trabzonspor, and the market knew before the cameras did, by a day on the price and by hours on the payout. Zoom back out and the useful thing here was never the answer, which any headline would have given you free. It was the shape of the six weeks in front of it: a 12-cent unknown, a one-day repricing to 70, a doubt window that paid a little over three times the stake, and a settlement that landed nearly two months early because the exchange writes an early-close condition into markets exactly like this one. The transfer stories still trading have the same shape and none of the answers yet. Ronaldo's board has no contract above 18 cents, and Haaland's is a stay-or-go market wearing 11 longshot badges. 18+, eligible states only.
