Kalshi prices and sportsbook lines as of Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Do I think San Francisco wins? Sure. But 8.5 points is a lot in a division game, even on the road, the 49ers keep racking up injuries, and I like teams coming off embarrassing losses. The backdoor is open. Cardinals +8.5.
Kickoff: Sunday, September 27, 4:05 PM ET, Levi's Stadium

Ranks out of 32 through Week 2 of 2026, nflverse play-by-play. Run game = EPA per carry, passing = EPA per dropback, protection = sacks-plus-hits rate against pressure rate, explosive = rate of completions of 20-plus. O = that offense has the edge, D = the defense does.
Cardinals, best: pass protection (12th), offense overall (19th), explosive passes allowed (9th). Worst: explosive passes (31st), ypa (30th), ypa allowed (26th).
49ers, best: success rate (1st), pass protection (1st), points allowed (3rd). Worst: explosive runs (20th), ypc (12th), run stuffs (23rd).
They Genuinely Cannot Catch A Break
San Francisco beat Miami 35-13 as a 12.5-point favorite, 2-0 against the spread. Brock Purdy was 20 of 22 for 287 with a completion rate 29 points over expected and zero sacks; the offense had a 57% success rate, went 5 of 7 on third down and used play-action on 46% of dropbacks. George Kittle caught 4 for 80 and a score, Christian McCaffrey scored twice on ten carries. The defense held Miami to 41% success and 3.5 a carry with four sacks; San Francisco allows minus-0.13 EPA per play for the season.
Then the injury list. Mike Evans (hip) may not play and will have to be managed either way. Demarcus Robinson is out. De'Zhaun Stribling is on injured reserve, Christian Kirk and Ricky Pearsall are out, Jake Tonges is out, Isaac Guerendo is out. Blame the substation, blame whatever you want; it is getting ridiculous. McCaffrey is getting older, and this offense does not have a Jaxon Smith-Njigba who scores three times. San Francisco's defense is not bad. It is not Seattle's, not close.
Coming Off An Embarrassing Loss
Arizona lost 31-7 at home to Seattle as a 3.5-point underdog. Jacoby Brissett was 17 of 28 for 95 yards, a 3.9-yard average depth, a pick and seven hits; the offense ran 47 plays at 32% success with zero completions of 20-plus. Trey McBride caught 8 of 10 for 41. The defense gave up an 82-yard touchdown to Smith-Njigba and 4.1 a carry. I said last week Arizona would get stomped coming off a big emotional win and then a Seattle defense, and it did. Will Johnson, their best young corner, is on injured reserve.
Brissett is not winning you a Super Bowl. But with McBride and Michael Wilson out there and a much better backfield than last year, this can evolve into enough of a shootout to end up a seven-point game even if the 49ers win it semi-comfortably.
The Pick
Cardinals +8.5.On Kalshi, that is San Francisco not winning by nine or more, 49 to 50 cents.
Backdoor potential is the whole call. If San Francisco is up 20 in the third quarter, it is still a live number.
Injury Report
- Mike Evans (SF). Hip, questionable, managed if he plays. Robinson out, Stribling on IR, Kirk and Pearsall out. The receiver room is Kittle and whoever is standing.
- Isaac Guerendo (SF). Out. McCaffrey carries the backfield with Kaelon Black and Jordan James behind him.
- Will Johnson (ARI). Injured reserve. Arizona's best young corner; Purdy's 20 of 22 came against a secondary without a Johnson.
- Weather. Mid-70s, calm, dry in Santa Clara.
