GTA 6 Release Date Odds: Will It Hit November 19?
The GTA 6 release date has been the most moved-around date in gaming for three years, and it finally has a number attached to it: November 19, 2026. Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated exchange, runs a live market on whether Grand Theft Auto VI actually lands on schedule, and it prices the game at 88 cents to reach players before December. We had six AI models read the same release-date ladder without ever seeing those prices, and they came back a shade more nervous than the market, pricing the two delays already on GTA 6's record as a slightly fatter tail than the traders do.
The Quick Answer
The market and our model panel agree on the headline: GTA 6 most likely ships on its announced November 19, 2026 date. Kalshi prices a release before December 1, 2026 at 88¢ and before 2027 at 90¢, so traders give the announced window roughly a seven-in-eight shot. Our six-model panel, run price-blind, blended to 81% on that same before-December rung, a touch lower, because it weighs GTA 6's two prior delays as a live risk of a third. The full model-by-model board, Rockstar's own track record with launch dates, and where one model started low before talking itself up are all below.

The Market
| Venue | Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated exchange (18+, availability varies by state, as of August 2026) |
| The Event | Kalshi series KXGTA6, event GTA6: "When will GTA 6 be released?", a deadline ladder on Grand Theft Auto VI's public release |
| The Contract | Official rule, verbatim: "If GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) has been released on a major platform (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows) by [date], then the market resolves to Yes." A release on any one major platform settles it, and the launch is on console, so the console release alone triggers Yes |
| Last-Trade YES Prices | Before Dec 1, 2026: 88¢. Before 2027: 90¢. Before Nov 1, 2026: 2¢. Before July 2027: 97¢. These are last-trade prices; Kalshi's public API returned no live bid/ask, volume, or open-interest figure for these contracts at fetch time, so treat them as indicative. Prices as of August 3, 2026 |
| How To Read It | Because current volume and open interest are not exposed, the signal is the shape of the ladder rather than any single rung to the penny: as of this snapshot, nearly all of the probability sits on one month |
Read the ladder for its shape, not any one rung to the penny. Kalshi does not expose a live volume or open-interest figure for these contracts, so the honest posture is to treat each quote as indicative. What is not ambiguous is the distribution the ladder draws: as of this snapshot, almost all of the probability sits on the announced month, with only a few cents left over for a slip into 2027.
The Date, And Why It Finally Looks Real
Here is the reporting the market is trading on. On November 19, 2026, GTA 6 is officially set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, a date Rockstar Games announced and publisher Take-Two Interactive has reaffirmed repeatedly through mid-2026. It is the third date GTA 6 has carried. The game was first revealed with a Fall 2025 window, then delayed to May 26, 2026; in November 2025, before that May date ever arrived, Rockstar pushed it again to its current November 19, 2026 slot, each move a roughly six-month slip.
So why does the market give this date a firm 88 cents when the last two moved? Three things changed:
- Pre-Orders Are Live. They opened June 25, 2026, with a free Vintage Vice City Pack for anyone who pre-orders before November 20, 2026. A dated retail commitment with a dated bonus is a much harder signal than a marketing window.
- The Money Is Staked On It. Take-Two built its entire Fiscal 2027 guidance, $8 to $8.2 billion in net bookings, up about 20% year over year, around the November 19 launch. On the May 21 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors the company expects "to achieve record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2027, which will establish a new baseline for our business," a forecast the company has tied directly to the GTA 6 launch.
- No New Trouble Has Surfaced. As of early August 2026, with the launch under four months out, there are no credible reports of production setbacks or extended crunch; the remaining milestones are the normal pre-launch cadence of final marketing and platform certification.
None of that makes a third delay impossible. It makes it the minority case, which is exactly how the market and our panel priced it.
Reading The Ladder
| Deadline | Market YES (last trade) | AI blend | What it prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| Before Aug 1, 2026 | settled NO | n/a | Already resolved: GTA 6 did not ship before August 2026 |
| Before Nov 1, 2026 | 2¢ | 1–2% | An early surprise or shadow-drop before the announced date |
| Before Dec 1, 2026 | 88¢ | 81% | The announced November 19 launch actually happens |
| Before Jan 1, 2027 | 90¢ | 87% | November 19, plus any short slip into December |
| Before July 2027 | 97¢ | 96% | A one or two quarter delay, the shape a Rockstar slip has taken before |
Kalshi event GTA6, quotes retrieved August 3, 2026. The "before June," "before July," and "before August 2026" rungs on this same ladder have all already settled No. The far 2027 rungs are secondary to the core question here, so read them as broad brush, not to the cent.
Read the ladder across and it tells a clean story. The pre-summer rungs are done, settled No, which is exactly what a November launch requires. The jump from before-November (2¢) to before-December (88¢) is the whole event: essentially all of the probability lands in that one November step, because that is the announced month. From there the ladder barely climbs, before-2027 adds only two cents, so the market is not pricing a drift into the holiday quarter, it is pricing a binary, either GTA 6 hits November 19 or it slips a full quarter or more. The 12 cents left on the before-December rung is the price of a third delay.
Prices refresh during the news cycle. The quotes on this page carry an "as of" date because a live board moves. If Rockstar drops a launch trailer, names a preload date, or, less likely, moves off November 19, we re-read the market and update the stamp; the shape of the argument, almost all the mass on the announced month, is what carries the piece, and the dated quote is the evidence.
The Bull Case (Why November 19 Holds)
The bull case is Rockstar's own track record with final dates. The studio delays, but when it finally names a hard date, that date has held. GTA V was pushed once, from Spring 2013 to September 17, 2013, and then shipped on the day. Red Dead Redemption 2 slipped twice, from Fall 2017 to Spring 2018 to October 26, 2018, and then launched exactly on that third date. GTA 6 is now following the Red Dead pattern to the letter: two delays, then a firm date. If history rhymes, the third date is the one that sticks.
Layer the commitment signals on top of the pattern and the case gets stronger. Live pre-orders with a dated bonus, an earnings forecast the whole company is judged against, and a CEO who has publicly ruled out another move are not the posture of a studio quietly planning to slip. For a delay now to happen, something would have to break late, and nothing has been reported breaking. That is why the market sits at 88, not 70.
The Bear Case (Why It Could Slip A Third Time)
The bear case is that GTA 6 has moved twice already, and the reasons it moved, polish and scale on the most ambitious game ever built, have not gone anywhere. A third delay would not be a shock; it would be the base rate for a project this size reasserting itself. Big AAA titles slip late even with pre-orders live. The reference point traders cannot unsee is Cyberpunk 2077, which held a hard, pre-ordered date and shipped broken; a studio that would rather delay than repeat that has every incentive to move if the final certification pass turns up trouble.
The honest read is that the tail is real but bounded. If GTA 6 slips, Rockstar's history says it moves in quarters, not weeks, so the risk is not a December landing, it is a bump into the first half of 2027. That is precisely the shape the ladder draws: very little between December and spring, then near-certainty by mid-2027. Our panel leaves a little more room here than the market does, and that gap is the only real disagreement on the board.
The one-line read: 88 cents says the third time is the charm, and Rockstar's own history with GTA V and Red Dead backs that up. The 12 cents against it is not pricing a small slip into December, it is pricing a full-quarter delay into 2027. Our panel puts that tail a touch heavier, at closer to 19 cents, because two prior slips earn a third a real hearing.
What The Market Is Pricing
At 88¢ before December and 90¢ before 2027, the market prices GTA 6 as a November 19, 2026 game, with roughly a one-in-eight chance the date moves a third time and, if it does, a move measured in quarters rather than weeks. Almost all of that probability sits on the announced month, which is the read to take from it. Our panel, which never saw these prices, agrees on the shape and shades the delay risk a little higher. When a price-blind model panel and the market land this close, the interesting question is not who has the number right but what could still surprise both, and here the only thing that can is Rockstar.

The Panel: How Six Models Read It
Our panel runs eight AI seats; six returned a verdict on this board this cycle (the other two were unavailable at run time, and we report that rather than quietly backfill it). Each model received the same dated, sourced context, GTA 6's announced date, its delay history, and the commitment signals, and never saw a market price. Each built one distribution over the release date and read the deadlines off it, so its numbers are internally consistent by construction. The table below shows the post-revision figures.
| Model | Before Dec 1, 2026 | Before Jan 1, 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Fable | 84% | 88% |
| Claude Opus | 82% | 88% |
| Claude Sonnet | 75% | 85% |
| GLM 5.2 | 80% | 87% |
| Kimi K3 | 80% | 86% |
| DeepSeek V4 | 84% | 91% |
| Blended Verdict | 81% | 87% |
Model estimates generated 2026-08-03. These are model estimates, not predictions of fact and not financial or trading advice. Models are frequently wrong; the market price reflects real traders' money.
The six seats span a tight band, 75% to 84% on the before-December rung, and the equal-weight mean lands at 81%, about seven points below the market's 88-cent quote. On the before-2027 rung the blend is 87% against a 90-cent market. In both cases the panel sits just under the market, which reads as the models leaving marginally more room for a third delay than the traders do. The disagreement is small and it is honest: nobody on the panel thinks the date is a coin flip, and nobody thinks it is a lock.
The Full Reasoning
These rationales are reproduced from the run. The panel also ran a second round in which each model read the others' anonymized reasoning and could revise, an experiment we run to see whether reading the room sharpens the estimate. On this board it produced the clearest revision of the exercise.
Kimi K3 (revised 72% → 80% before December): The opening estimate was the panel's most cautious, leaning hard on the two-delay history. Reading the other seats changed that, and the reason it gave is the single sharpest observation on the board: "Rockstar's final announced dates have historically held (GTA V; RDR2 after exactly two delays, the same pattern GTA 6 now shows), and this date is set with a full year of buffer, live pre-orders with a dated bonus, FY2027 guidance staked on it, an on-record no-delay pledge, and no setback reports under four months out." That is the panel working as designed: not conformity for its own sake, but one model recognizing a base rate, Rockstar's final dates hold, that it had underweighted relative to the raw delay count.
Claude Sonnet (75%, held): The panel's low seat, and after reading the other seats it held its number rather than drift up. Its stated read: "A hard, pre-ordered, earnings-staked November 19, 2026 commitment with an on-record no-further-delay pledge outweighs the two-delay track record, leaving a real but bounded slip-risk tail." Every peer leaned on the same commitment facts Sonnet had already weighed against GTA 6's history, so nudging toward their slightly higher numbers would have been conformity rather than fresh evidence. A well-reasoned outlier is worth more than a move toward the mean, and Sonnet kept its 25% chance of a third delay.
Claude Opus (82%, held): "A hard, live-pre-ordered, FY2027-earnings-staked November 19 launch with an on-record no-further-delay pledge outweighs GTA 6's two prior slips." Opus trimmed its pre-November rungs to the floor, on the logic that an early release against a fixed announced date is essentially impossible, and kept the bulk of its mass on the announced month.
Claude Fable (84%): "Live pre-orders with a dated bonus, Take-Two's on-record no-further-delay pledge, and FY2027 guidance staked on November 19 make the date firm at under four months out." Fable read the commitment stack as unusually binding this close to launch and priced the highest confidence in the announced month among the Claude seats.
GLM 5.2 (80%): "Live pre-orders, Take-Two's FY2027 guidance staked on November 19, and the CEO's on-record denial of further delay outweigh GTA's two-delay history, but roughly 20% slip risk remains." GLM landed squarely on the market's shape while keeping a fifth of the mass on a third delay.
DeepSeek V4 (84%): "Pre-order bonus with a hard before-November-20 date, explicit CEO denial of further delay, and FY2027 guidance staked on November 19 make the date highly credible." DeepSeek put the most probability of any seat on a clean 2026 landing and the thinnest tail past the holiday quarter.
The common thread across all six: every model named the same trigger, a Rockstar or Take-Two statement moving off November 19, as the one thing that would swing its number, and none exists as of early August. When a price-blind panel and the market both land in the same place, the lesson is not that the models are clever; it is that the commitment signals are strong enough that the smart read and the market read are nearly the same read.
Where You Can Actually Trade This
Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated exchange and its event contracts are 18+, and state availability changes often enough that a list frozen into an article would be the wrong place to read it. Check eligibility on the platform, then use our prediction-market legality guide for the state-by-state detail and our guide to how prediction markets work for the mechanics of reading a quote. For a structural sibling to this piece, another entertainment market where the question is when, not whether, see our read on the Dune: Part Three release-timing market, and for the same panel pricing a hardware release-date ladder, our iPhone 18 release-date verdict.
What is worth weighing on this board is the agreement between two independent reads. The last-trade quotes put almost all the probability on the announced month, and a price-blind model panel that never saw those quotes lands in nearly the same place. That agreement, a live market and six models arriving at the announced date from opposite directions, is why 88 cents is worth taking seriously.

FAQ
When does GTA 6 come out?
Rockstar Games has officially set Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Kalshi's market gives that date an 88% chance of holding (a release before December 1, 2026), and our six-model panel, run without seeing the price, put it at roughly 81%. Both agree November 2026 is by far the most likely window.
Will GTA 6 be delayed again?
It is possible but the market treats it as a minority outcome. GTA 6 has already been delayed twice (from Fall 2025 to May 2026 to November 19, 2026), so a third slip is not off the table. But pre-orders are live, Take-Two has publicly ruled out another delay, and its entire Fiscal 2027 guidance is built on the November 19 launch. Kalshi prices only about a 12% chance the game misses its announced November window (a release before December 1, 2026); our panel prices that risk of a third delay a little higher, at about 19%.
What platforms is GTA 6 releasing on?
GTA 6 launches first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. A Windows/PC version has not been dated and, based on Rockstar's history with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, typically arrives later. The Kalshi market resolves Yes on a release to any major platform (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or Windows), so the console launch alone settles it.
Are the model verdicts advice?
No. Model verdicts are model estimates of how a market might resolve, not financial advice. Treat them as one input among many, not a recommendation to trade. Other entries in this series include our reads on the Dune: Part Three release-timing market and the iPhone 18 release-date market.
What would move these odds fast?
Any official word from Rockstar or Take-Two moving off November 19, or a credible report of a certification failure or fresh internal delay, would move them down; a launch trailer, a preload date, or a reaffirmation on the next earnings call would firm them up. Every model on our panel named a Rockstar or Take-Two statement on the date as the single biggest trigger.
The Real Answer To "When"
Strip away the mechanics and this board answers the question millions of people are typing into a search bar. When does GTA 6 come out? A live CFTC-regulated market, and six AI models that never saw its price, both point to the same day: November 19, 2026. GTA 6 has already burned two release dates, so a healthy skeptic is right to ask whether the third holds. The market says it does, at 88 cents. Our panel says a little less, at 81. And Rockstar's own history, one delay for GTA V, two for Red Dead, and the final date held both times, is the reason the smart read is confident but not certain.
