Since Monday, September 7, 2026, 100,541 contracts of "Denver wins" have traded on Kalshi for Monday night's opener at Arrowhead, and 96% of them were bought. That is the most one-sided moneyline tape of any game left on the Week 1 board. On Kalshi a price in cents is a probability, and through three days of buying the Broncos' price has not moved: 44 cents Monday, 44 Tuesday, 44 Wednesday, 44 at lunch on Thursday.
The book's money is on the same side. At DraftKings, 59% of the moneyline tickets and 80% of the moneyline money are on Denver at +124, and 69% of the spread tickets and 74% of the spread money are on Denver +2.5. The Chiefs are a home favorite that almost nobody, by count or by dollars, wants to lay.

Read the Chiefs row twice. DraftKings' -148 is a 59.7% price; Kalshi's 57-cent ask is 57. If you are the one bettor in five who wants Kansas City, the exchange is nearly three cents cheaper before its fee of under two cents a contract, the widest Chiefs discount on the board. The Broncos are a wash: +124 is 44.6%, and the exchange asks 44. Kickoff is Monday, September 14, at 8:15 PM ET.
A Hundred Thousand Contracts And No Move
A market that takes 96% buying for three days and does not go up is a market where someone is selling into the buyers at a fixed price. On Kalshi that is usually a market maker or a large account resting offers at 44 and refilling them as they get hit; the "Denver wins" order book had 239,000 contracts of open interest on Thursday afternoon, which is the second-largest on the Week 1 board behind Cowboys-Giants. The buyers are many and small. Wednesday's biggest single Broncos print was 2,187 contracts. The largest of the week was under 2,500.
The Chiefs side tells the same story from the other end. The spread contract, "Kansas City wins by over 2.5," has taken 20,398 contracts in three days and only 33% of them were buys; the biggest print was a 7,808-contract sale in seven fills at 2:36 PM Tuesday at 50 cents. Somebody sold Chiefs -2.5 in size on Tuesday afternoon, and the price came back to 52 by Thursday anyway. That is the whole picture: the crowd is on Denver, one large seller was on Denver, and the number will not budge, which means whoever is on the other side has deep pockets and no interest in moving.

Why The Crowd Is Where It Is
The public case for Denver is not complicated and I will not pretend it is. The Broncos are the AFC West favorite on Kalshi at 34 to 35 cents, a cent ahead of Kansas City at 33 to 34. A road underdog that the market thinks is the better team is the easiest ticket in football to write, and 80% of the money at a book is what it looks like when everyone writes it.
The counter-argument is the price itself. Three days of one-way buying and the exchange still says 44, and the book still says +124. When that much money lands on a side and the number does not move, the side either was already priced in or somebody with more information than the crowd is happy to keep taking the other end at that price. On Kalshi's own board there is one small tell about which: the "Patrick Mahomes starts Monday" contract is 98 cents and the "Justin Fields starts" contract is 2, and 60,000 contracts have traded on the Fields side anyway. People are paying two cents for a lottery ticket on the one thing that would make the Denver money look brilliant.
What Moves The Price From Here
- The Chiefs' Wednesday and Thursday practice reports. Kansas City's first injury report of the week comes Thursday for a Monday game. Anything on Mahomes or the offensive line moves the 57-cent contract more than three days of Broncos buying did.
- Sunday's results. By Monday morning every other Week 1 game is in the books, and a market that has been frozen for four days tends to move once the rest of the league has played.
- A seller stepping away. The Broncos are 44 because someone keeps offering them at 44. The day that account stops, the crowd's buying finally shows up in the price.
- Monday, September 14, 8:15 PM ET. The contract settles on the final score at Arrowhead.
