Washington's finish against the Giants was the worst blunder of the season so far. It all comes from the top, and that's on Dan Quinn. Jayden Daniels also has to know where his team is and how many timeouts it has, and he lay there while the clock ran out. As 7.5-point dogs in prime time, though, I don't mind them. This feels like a trap for everyone piling onto the 49ers: Commanders +7.5.

Shouldn't This Be Bigger?
San Francisco is 5-0 and looks like the best team in the league, and Brock Purdy is playing excellent football. Washington is coming off the biggest blunder in football. Shouldn't this be 9.5 or 10? It isn't. It's 7.5, and that gets us the Commanders outside of seven.
The 49ers won 32-29 in Seattle with four takeaways, and three of their five wins came by 10 or more. Deebo Samuel is out with a hamstring injury, and Nick Bosa is questionable.
Daniels Is Still Good
Washington ran for 7.0 yards a carry against the Giants. Daniels had 104 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt added 82 and a score. The pass defense let Jameis Winston throw for 326, which is the concern against Purdy, Mike Evans and George Kittle. Washington doesn't have to win or even come close. Down 14 with a garbage-time touchdown to cut it to seven covers.
