Kalshi pays more on 9 of the 16 favorites. FanDuel pays more on 10 of the 16 underdogs. The widest gap on the board is $28.99 on a $100 bet, the Cardinals at the 49ers on Sunday afternoon, and it belongs to FanDuel.

A Kalshi bet is a contract that pays $1 if your team wins, priced in cents, so a 69¢ contract on the Eagles costs 69¢ for each dollar it can pay back, plus a fee the app does not print on the ticket. The two apps split by side because of that fee and one sportsbook habit, both explained below.

A $100 bet buys 431 contracts on the Cardinals at 22¢ plus the 1.2¢ fee, and every one of them pays $1 if Arizona wins.
All three are big underdogs, and all three gaps are FanDuel's. Kalshi's edges are smaller, and the first one is Thursday night. FanDuel has the Falcons at +205 in Green Bay, $205 on $100; Kalshi at 30¢ plus the fee pays $217.76, $12.76 more on the same team. The Cowboys under the Ravens are the other underdog worth the switch, $152.21 at Kalshi against $146 at FanDuel. On favorites the biggest edges are Kalshi's and they are small: the Lions over the Jets pay $34.45 at Kalshi against $31.25 at FanDuel, and the 49ers over the Cardinals $24.75 against $21.74.

Across all 16 favorites, $100 on each at FanDuel would return $790.69 in profit if every one of them won, and the same sixteen bets at Kalshi would return $798.83. The median gap per game is 38 cents in Kalshi's favor, down from $1.37 in Week 1, and six of the sixteen sit inside a dollar either way. The favorites where the app moves the number are the big ones: Lions, 49ers, Rams, Bills and Chiefs pay $2.16 to $3.20 more on Kalshi.

FanDuel's underdog prices pay flat: +360 returns $360 on $100. Kalshi's contract price does the same job in cents.
Here the order flips. FanDuel pays more on 10 of the 16 underdogs, Kalshi on 6, and the three widest gaps of the week are all on this table and all FanDuel's: Cardinals, Jets, Chargers, every one of them priced at +260 or longer. All 16 underdogs at FanDuel would return $3,308 if every one hit; at Kalshi, $3,240.54. The six exceptions, Falcons, Cowboys, Bears, Patriots, Buccaneers and Commanders, pay more at Kalshi, and the Falcons gap of $12.76 is the biggest edge on the board for Kalshi bettors.
Why Kalshi Pays More On Favorites And FanDuel On Underdogs
Kalshi's price is the market's estimate of the chance, in cents: a 69¢ contract pays $1 if the Eagles win, so the price is what you pay for each dollar of payout. What the app does not show on the ticket is the fee, 7% × price × (1 − price) on every contract you buy at a posted price. It is largest at 50 cents, 1.75¢ a contract, and smaller on big favorites and big underdogs. Per contract it is the same on both sides of a game, but $100 buys far more contracts on an underdog, so the fee takes a bigger bite of an underdog bet: 5.2 percent of the stake on the Cardinals against 1.4 percent on the 49ers. That is half of the split.
The other half comes from FanDuel. Sportsbooks price the side the public wants, the favorite, a little worse than the other side, and FanDuel's two prices on a Week 3 game add up to a median 4.1¢ over the dollar. There is no house line at the exchange; the price is whatever other traders have offered to buy and sell at, and this week the best buy and sell offers sit a cent apart on all 16 games. So on a favorite the fee is usually smaller than FanDuel's padding, and on an underdog FanDuel's price is often low enough to beat the exchange after the fee. Week 3 holds the pattern, with a thinner margin on favorites. My Take
Nothing on this page is a reason to bet a game. It is a reason to check the price first. If you already want a favorite this week, the two apps are close to even: Kalshi pays more on 9 of 16, by a median 38 cents on $100, and the edge is only worth the switch on the big favorites, Lions, 49ers, Rams, Bills, Chiefs. If you want an underdog, FanDuel pays more on 10 of 16, and on the three widest gaps of the week, Cardinals, Jets and Chargers, it pays $19.95 to $28.99 more on $100. The Falcons on Thursday night are the one underdog where the exchange is clearly the better app, $12.76 more. Thirty seconds on the live odds screen, which lists Kalshi with its fee already added beside FanDuel and every other book, settles it for any game. This page is repriced every NFL week.
