The Read
Indianapolis, with the points. As of Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Kalshi has Baltimore at 61 to 62 cents to win and the Colts at 38 to 39; DraftKings has the Ravens -3.5 with a 47.5 total, down a point from Friday. A road team laying more than a field goal behind a head coach who has never run a game and a first-year play-caller, against a healthy quarterback in a dome, is the wrong side of 3 for me. My pick is Colts +3.5.

Where the money is. At DraftKings, as of September 8, 70% of the spread bets and 66% of the money are on Baltimore -3.5, and the moneyline runs 80% and 84% the same way. On the total, 58% of the bets and 70% of the money are on the under.
What The Market Is Weighing
Everything in Baltimore is new except the quarterback. The Ravens fired John Harbaugh in January after eighteen seasons and one 8-9 year, and hired Jesse Minter, 42, the Chargers' defensive coordinator, who has never been a head coach at any level. He'll call the defense; Declan Doyle, a first-year coordinator, installs a new offense. Zay Flowers was back at practice Thursday and on track for the opener after a lower-body issue. The defense he inherits allowed 259.1 passing yards a game (29th), got a sack on 4.6% of opponent dropbacks (31st) and gave up 4.47 plays of 20-plus yards a game (31st); Nnamdi Madubuike, the best interior lineman on a defense that finished with 29 sacks, is day to day after April neck surgery and did not take 11-on-11 reps in camp.
Indianapolis is healthy where it matters, on paper. Daniel Jones tore his Achilles in Week 14 last December; he did not miss a first-team snap in camp, expects to be "100 percent," and was held out of all three preseason games, so the first hit on that tendon in nine months comes from a live pass rush. The Colts scored 27.4 a game (8th), converted 43% of third downs (7th) and gave up a sack on 5.0% of dropbacks (8th) with him, and collapsed without him. The defense is built to stop what Baltimore does best: third in yards per carry allowed (3.98) and seventh against the run, against a Ravens offense that ran for 157.7 a game and 5.47 a carry, first in the league by a distance. The hole is the Colts' pass defense, 31st at 262.8 a game, and Baltimore's passing game ranked 28th with Jackson missing four games. The receivers are the softer part of the case: Alec Pierce, the deep threat Indianapolis paid $114 million in the spring, had ankle surgery in March, missed most of camp, and practiced Tuesday after coming off PUP; the team expects him Sunday, likely on a snap count. Keenan Allen, 34, was arrested Sunday on drunk-driving charges, and general manager Chris Ballard says he'll play. Around him: Sauce Gardner gets his first full season after the deadline trade from the Jets, Charvarius Ward is back from the back injury that cost him most of camp, and Tyler Warren (groin) and Josh Downs still carry tags. Indianapolis allowed 22.1 points a game at home last year and 26.6 on the road.
The number is stuck while the money moves. The spread has sat on 3.5 all summer. The total dropped from 49.5 to 47.5 and the Ravens' moneyline eased from -185 to -175. On Kalshi the gap between "Baltimore by 3 or more" at 56-57 cents and "by 4 or more" at 49-50 is the seven-cent price of the number 3.

The Pick
Laying the 3.5 is a coherent position. Baltimore's 8-9 came with Jackson missing four games and Madubuike missing fifteen, and a healthy Lamar with Derrick Henry behind him is a different team. And the Colts' season sits on an Achilles that hasn't taken a hit since December.
But the matchups run the other way. Baltimore's best thing, the run game, meets the Colts' best thing, a top-three run defense; Baltimore's worst thing, a pass rush that got home on 4.6% of dropbacks, meets a quarterback who was sacked on 5% of his and an offense that scored 27 a game. The Ravens went 6-11 against the spread, they're on the road laying more than a field goal, and the head coach and the play-caller are both doing this for the first time. The trenches say the dog can hang: Indianapolis generated 157 pressures and 39 sacks last year to Baltimore's 118 and 29, and Jackson was pressured on 22.3% of his dropbacks and sacked 36 times in 13 games.
Colts +3.5, -110 at BetMGM or -115 at DraftKings. Kalshi's "no" on "Baltimore wins by over 3.5" costs 54 cents this week, a worse price than the book.
On the total, I lean under 47.5 with a brand-new offense on one side and Gardner and Ward on the other, but the market already took the good number from 49.5. Nothing on it.
What Would Change The Picture
Wednesday's report is the first official one. Zay Flowers (quad) returned to practice last week; Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) is back in team drills and day to day, per Jesse Minter; Daniel Jones says he feels good about live action, and Anthony Richardson is the named backup. Warren and Pierce are the Colts names to watch; a Pierce designation takes the deep ball out of the Colts' best matchup, Baltimore's 29th-ranked pass defense. A Flowers scratch: Baltimore's new offense without its top receiver, in its first game, makes the Colts side better at the same number.
Bottom Line
The market is giving a first-time head coach a road favorite laying more than a field goal, on the strength of the one thing that didn't change. I'll take the home team and the half point.
This one settles Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the final score.
