Cue the Geto Boys, because DAMN it feels good. Fifth inning in Cleveland, Detroit starter Jobe, the arm this column spent Sunday morning describing as "elite velocity, zero deception, loud contact," leaves a changeup over the plate, and BRAYAN ROCCHIO, our 6-cent switch-hitting scratch-off, deposits it into the right-center seats from the left side. Solo shot. His THIRD homer of the series against these very Tigers. The only home run hit by anyone, in the whole game, in a 3-2 Guardians win in 10 innings. One homer was available at Progressive Field on Sunday and it belonged to US at +1464.
Do the math out loud with me, because this is the part they never believe: a quarter unit at +1464 pays +3.66 units, the single biggest cash in the history of this tally, on its single cheapest ticket. The other two swings missed (Chourio 0-for-4 in a 12-8 loss, Olson 0-for-4 and colder than a Wisconsin January), and the day STILL banked +3.16 units. That's the entire religion of this column in one Sunday: quarter units make the misses irrelevant and let the miracles be miracles.

Twelve-plus units of profit. Ninety-three percent ROI across 52 plays since Aug. 17. New all-time high. Clear eyes on that number, too: one 6-cent ticket is close to a third of it, and the tally without Rocchio is +8.44 units on 51 rows, which is still the point. And it's one in the morning as I write this, which brings us to today's business, because this column doesn't sleep on Labor Day: it goes SHOPPING. When I checked the boards at 1 AM, I couldn't find a posted Monday HR prop on any book I could read. Kalshi's markets? Open all night, quotes live, spreads sleepy and wide. This is the entire point of prediction markets, so let 'em know: an exchange doesn't shade your price or cut you off for winning the way a book does. It can limit your SIZE, two ways: you're only as filled as the resting orders across from you, and Kalshi carries its own per-market position limits, and at 1 AM that book is thin. But no book manager reviews your account in the morning and nobody caps you at nickel bets for the sin of winning, because on an exchange the house isn't on the other side of your ticket, another trader is. Buy early, position for the closing line, and you ain't gettin' limited for being a G. Two overnight bombs below, buried as always, card at the bottom.
Every Kalshi price on today's card is my overnight entry price, quoted around 1 AM ET on September 7, 2026, hours before the books post a Monday number. Both games go off at 1:35 ET, so treat these as a snapshot, expect the spreads to tighten by morning, and shop the number before you fire.

Grayson Rodriguez, the Angels starter Wilyer Abreu faces at Fenway Park at 1:35 ET. A four-seamer he throws more than half the time, and what lefties have done to it, is the whole thesis of today's first play.
The Fenway Fastball Tax (1:35 ET)
The Angels bring Grayson Rodriguez to Fenway for the holiday matinee, and the profile reads like an invoice waiting for a stamp: a 6.03 ERA with a 5.40 expected ERA to match (this is not bad luck, it's bad outcomes), a 9.3% barrel rate allowed with 46.4% hard-hit, and a four-seam fastball he throws 53.7% of the time that's being slugged .514. More than half his pitches are one pitch, and that pitch is getting taxed. The split makes it worse: lefties are hitting .318 with a .534 slug and a .929 OPS against him, with 7 of his 12 homers allowed, and now he has to do it at Fenway on a sunny 78° Labor Day afternoon. Fenway isn't the lefty bandbox people think (it grades about neutral for homers), but the Pesky Pole means a 302-foot wrap down the line is live, and against a four-seamer being slugged .514 overall you don't need 400 feet.
Our lefty: Wilyer Abreu, third time on this tally in a week, and this is the cleanest look of the three, because this time the fastball comes to HIM. The 18.7° average launch angle (seats-band, our favorite geometry), the 12.2% barrel rate, the 23 homers, his usual cleanup spot: all of it pointed at a 54%-usage heater that lefties are treating like a batting-tee session. Fine print, always: he's cost us twice on this ledger (three hits across those two nights, just none of them left the yard), and the overnight spread was wide when I fired (12¢ bid / 15¢ ask; by 1:53 AM the bid had come up to 14¢, so the spread is already tightening and a resting order under it won't fill for long). That's the sleepy-market tax, so work a limit order below the ask if you've got the patience. At 15¢, Kalshi's +529 effective was the only number I could find on him at 1 AM. Not a bug. A head start. When the books wake up and hang a Monday number, the live MLB home run prop odds screen is where I hold it up against the exchange.

The Camden Split Collision (1:35 ET)
Same first-pitch window, one turnpike south, and this one is the purest platoon collision on the holiday slate. Baltimore starts lefty Trevor Rogers, and let's be honest about him first, because the honesty IS the angle: Rogers is a good pitcher. A 3.54 FIP, a 7% barrel rate allowed, a sweeper that misses bats. He is not broadly homer-prone. He is SPECIFICALLY homer-prone: 15 of the 16 home runs he's allowed this season belong to right-handed batters, who are hitting .273 off him while lefties hit .193 with one. The four-seam he throws 46% of the time and the changeup he throws 21% (his most-damaged pitch at a .462 slug) do all the leaking, and they leak in exactly one direction.
Which brings back an old friend of this tally: Jo Adell, a Guardian since the August trade and a THREE-time resident of the table above (two cashes, one miss). His season line is quiet (.237, 20 homers), but flip the platoon switch and the man transforms: .308 with a .582 slug and 12 of his 20 homers against left-handed pitching, in barely more than a quarter of his plate appearances. That's a .940 OPS in the split, a 16.4° launch angle, and the exact right-handed profile Rogers cannot keep in the ballpark. Full sunlight: Adell hasn't homered in better than two weeks (his last two came Aug. 18 and Aug. 22, both, poetically, tickets this column cashed), so you're buying the split, not a heater. Fair warning, too: Cleveland went 10 innings at home Sunday and lands in Baltimore for a 1:35 start, so his spot in the lineup is a genuine question, not a formality. I fired at 14¢, +574 effective, the same price that paid us on Aug. 18. (At 1:53 AM the bid was still 13¢, so a resting order a penny under the ask is live if you'd rather wait.) No book I could read had a number on him at 1 AM; the exchange was open, so we walked in. Camden plays fair (it grades about neutral for homers), the forecast is a sunny 82° with nothing in the wind's way, and the collision does the rest. (Watchlist for the night owls: the best raw matchup on the slate, Elly De La Cruz (23 homers) in Los Angeles tonight against a Dodgers starter who wasn't even listed at 1 AM, has NO Kalshi prices posted yet. When that board populates in the morning, move quick and tell them Lindy sent you.)
The Card
You read the stories; here's the overnight window slip. Kalshi's taker fee, roughly 7% × price × (1 − price), about a penny here, is baked into both numbers; the Kalshi fees breakdown carries the full math, and if the venue itself is new to you, start with how to bet MLB on Kalshi:
- Wilyer Abreu At 15¢ → +529 effective (no book I could read had a Monday number at 1 AM; the exchange was the only register open)
- Jo Adell At 14¢ → +574 effective, filled (same; the books were asleep, that's the edge, and it's the exact price he cashed for us on Aug. 18)
Overnight spreads are wide, so don't chase above the quoted asks: set your price and let the market come to you. Quarter unit each, same as all 52 rows above. Sweep math for the skimmers: both connect and it's +2.76 units on 0.50 risked, tally to +14.86; both miss and it's a half-unit, which is exactly why every play stays at a quarter unit.
The overnight window is the whole sermon in one slip: two prices bought at 1 AM, before any book I could read had a Monday number, and by first pitch there will be a dozen registers to hold them against. Holding the Kalshi ask up against every book at once is what the live MLB home run odds screen does for the rest of today's slate, and OddsShopper Pro does it for you (the fee math above translates the Kalshi side). It runs a 7-day free trial, then code LINDY25 takes 25% off your first week or month.

Final Thoughts
A fastball tax collection at Fenway from the launch-angle poster boy of this column, and a three-time tally alum walking into the one split a good lefty can't hide, both bought in the dark, hours before the books hang a number.
Even on a night when a 6-cent miracle pays 14-to-1 and change, the sermon stays the sermon: at 14 and 15 cents, both of today's tickets miss roughly five times out of six. The price confesses it, and the quarter unit respects it. Rocchio didn't cash because we got brave with the stake; he cashed because 52 straight quarter units EARNED the right to be there when the miracle landed. Stay boring. Stay early. Stay un-limitable.
Before you tail either one, confirm Abreu and Adell are in the posted lineups (neither was up when I wrote this) and that Rodriguez and Rogers are still the listed starters, then check that the Kalshi number still clears whatever the books hang by noon. If you want the full board instead of my two, the automated home run picks today hub prices every bat on the slate once the morning boards post, and the rest of the OddsShopper crew posts free expert picks today.
I'll keep putting my best out there every single day, even at one in the morning on a holiday. Let 'em know.
— Lindy
