The Jazz Draw the Most Trading
The most traded bet on Kalshi's win boards is the Jazz winning 40 or more games. It has closed between 42¢ and 48¢ every day since August 1, close to a coin flip for a team that went 22-60 last season.
Three of the five players ESPN expects Utah to start this season played only part of that season for the Jazz. Lauri Markkanen averaged 26.7 points but played only 42 games. Jaren Jackson Jr. played 45 games for Memphis before a February trade that cost Utah three first-round picks, then three for the Jazz before surgery on his left knee. Keyonte George played 54 games around ankle and hamstring injuries.
When he played, George took a big step forward. He averaged 23.6 points and 6.1 assists, up from 16.8 and 5.6 the season before, and shot a career-best 37.1% from three. He and the Jazz agreed to a five-year, $157.5 million extension on September 18.
The other two starters are Darryn Peterson, the No. 2 pick, and Jusuf Nurkic. ESPN calls that starting five "a significant upgrade in talent and potential" on what Utah started last season with. The Jazz also sent Walker Kessler to the Lakers in a sign-and-trade for two unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps, and ESPN expects them to use some of that to go after his replacement.

76ers: Leaning Under 50 Wins
The 76ers winning 50 or more is the second most traded bet. It closed at 46¢ on July 23 and at 54¢ on July 24, when LeBron James announced he was joining Philadelphia. It has stayed between 55¢ and 59¢ since late August.
Fifty wins asks three things of this roster at once, and each one is a reason to lean under. Joel Embiid has played 96 regular-season games over the last three seasons. James turns 42 in December and is about to become the first player to play a 24th NBA season. And Jaylen Brown, who came from Boston in a trade for Paul George, has to fit beside Embiid. In last season's playoffs the two had the highest usage rates of any regular, a measure of how many of a team's plays end with that player.
One caveat is Embiid's summer. Mike Gansey, the 76ers' president of basketball operations, told ESPN, as Heavy reported: "This is like the first summer I think in a while that he's been healthy." Philadelphia also won 45 games last season without Brown or James.
Clippers: 30 Wins or More
Kalshi has the Clippers at 55¢ to win 30 or more. They traded James Harden and Ivica Zubac in February, then parted with Kawhi Leonard, Bennedict Mathurin, John Collins and Bogdan Bogdanović this summer.
Two things point to 30 or more. The first is that the Clippers have little to gain from bottoming out. Oklahoma City holds the right to swap first-round picks with them in 2027 unless the Clippers' pick lands in the top five, so a bad season mostly helps the Thunder.
The second is two proven creators. Darius Garland, a two-time All-Star in Cleveland, came over in the Harden trade. Brandon Ingram arrived in the Leonard trade off an All-Star season in Toronto, where he led the Raptors in scoring. A win total counts only the regular season.
The caveat is who left. Last season the Clippers played far better with Leonard on the floor than off it, and only two regulars in the league showed a bigger gap.
Thunder and Spurs at the Top
Oklahoma City lost the West finals to San Antonio in Game 7 on its own floor, and Luguentz Dort, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins have left since. The Spurs then lost the Finals to the Knicks in five games. The two teams are also level on Kalshi's championship board.
The Biggest Changes From Last Season
Indiana went 19-63 a year ago and costs 71¢ to win 40 or more now. Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in Game 7 of the 2025 Finals and missed all of last season; he is healthy and will be 16 months removed from the injury by opening night.
Detroit had the East's best record, then lost in the second round to Cleveland in Game 7. This summer the Pistons traded Isaiah Stewart, their longest-tenured player, and replaced Tobias Harris and Caris LeVert with John Collins and Isaiah Joe. Talks with Jalen Duren, a restricted free agent, have stalled.
Portland will be without Shaedon Sharpe for much of the season. He tore the meniscus in his right knee in an offseason workout and is expected to miss six months. There is more on his injury and the Blazers' price on our Sharpe page.
The Bottom and the New Lottery
Eight teams won 26 games or fewer last season. Sacramento then lost DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook and added three rookies. Kalshi has the Kings ahead of Brooklyn and Milwaukee to finish with the league's worst record. Brooklyn traded for Julius Randle, and Milwaukee traded Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami.
The new 3-2-1 lottery starts with the 2027 draft. It grows from 14 teams to 16, gives each team that misses the playoffs and play-in three balls, and takes one away from each of the three worst.
What to Watch
- October 20. Opening night. The 76ers start at the Knicks, right after New York raises its championship banner.
- April 11, 2027. The regular season ends with all 30 teams playing, and every win total is decided.
