The market had this one right and this page had it wrong: the Rams won 28-6, the Giants' 26-cent contract settled at zero, and the Rams-by-8-or-more row that cost 47 cents on Friday paid a dollar. Puka Nacua sat, which this page said would make the Giants the buy. It made no difference. Jameis Winston started at quarterback for the Giants, Jaxson Dart threw five passes, and Matthew Stafford threw four touchdowns. The Friday prices and the week of news that set them are below, as they stood. A week of news went into those two cents: a 28-20 win over the Cowboys with Jaxson Dart throwing three touchdowns, Myles Garrett to injured reserve for at least four games, Aaron Donald cleared to play his first game since 2023, and Puka Nacua missing Friday's practice with a hip. The market read all of it and moved the Giants from one in four to one in four. The row I keep coming back to is the spread: the Rams to win by 7 or more cost 56¢ and by 8 or more cost 47¢, so the market has put the whole game on one point.

What Moved The Price, And What Did Not
Tuesday, September 8. Buyers took the Rams to 82¢ by Wednesday's close and left the Giants at 19¢. That was a Rams team that had not yet played in Melbourne.
Thursday night, September 10. The Rams lost 27-7 to the 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Giants ticked from 19¢ to 22¢ as the game ended and were back at 19¢ by morning. A 20-point loss moved this price for about an hour.
Friday, September 11. NFL.com reported that Garrett would have arthroscopic knee surgery and go on injured reserve, with Week 6 the earliest he can return. The Giants went from 20¢ at 5 a.m. to 25¢ by Friday night; the Rams went from 81¢ to 77¢. That was the move of the week, and it came on an injury, not a game.
Sunday, September 13. The Giants beat Dallas 28-20. They were 24¢ when the game kicked off and 24¢ at 2 a.m. Monday. Three touchdowns from Dart bought the Giants no better a price against the Rams than they had before he threw them.
This week. Donald was left off the Rams' report, which clears him to play. Nacua and Jordan Whittington did not practice Friday. The Giants put cornerback Paulson Adebo on injured reserve and listed both tackles, Andrew Thomas and Francis Mauigoa, as questionable. Net: Giants 24¢ to 26¢.
What actually moved the pricea pass rusher on injured reserve. The win over Dallas did not.
Why The Market Won't Pay For The Dallas Win
The Giants' case is the game they just played. Dart went 23 of 29 for 230 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, Cam Skattebo ran for 81 yards and a score, and the Giants converted 9 of 11 third downs and held the ball for the last 5:21 to close it out, per NBC Sports' recap. It was John Harbaugh's first game as their head coach. Malik Nabers played his first game since tearing his ACL last September and is expected to play Monday.
The market's case is the trenches, and it is a good one. Aaron Donald's first game in three years comes against a Giants line whose left tackle, Andrew Thomas, was limited Friday with an ankle, and whose rookie right tackle, Mauigoa, was limited with a shoulder. Dart had a clean pocket against Dallas. He will not have one if either tackle sits. On the other side, the Giants lost Adebo to injured reserve on Friday, and Deonte Banks (calf) and Greg Newsome II (ribs) are both questionable, against Davante Adams and, if his hip allows, Nacua. That is the difference between 26¢ and something like 30¢: the market believes the Giants' win, and does not believe their tackles.
The Rams have their own list. Nacua and Whittington did not practice Friday, safety Kamren Kinchens did not practice Thursday with a hamstring, and linebackers Nate Landman and Omar Speights and safety Kam Curl were limited. Garrett is out. A Rams defense without Garrett and Kinchens is the one the Giants would want to see, and the Rams' price has come in from 82¢ to 75¢ to reflect it.
The Spread Contract Is Where The Argument Is
Kalshi lists the Rams to win by 7 or more at 56¢ and by 8 or more at 47¢. That is nine cents for one point, the widest step on the board, which tells you the market thinks a touchdown is the likeliest margin. A 27-20 Rams win pays the 56¢ contract and not the 47¢ one. If you lean Rams, the 8-or-more rung at 47¢ is the cheaper way to say it, and it needs the Rams to win by a touchdown and a field goal or a two-point conversion.
The Giants side is simpler. The Giants to win outright cost 26¢ and the Giants to win by 2 or more cost 25¢. A one-point Giants win is the only thing separating those two contracts, so a Giants backer takes the moneyline and keeps the extra cent of protection.
The Grade: A Quarter Was Too Much
This page said 26 cents was the right price for the Giants and that if Nacua sat they became the buy. Nacua sat. The Giants scored six points. The market's case was the trenches, and the trenches won: the Giants gained 111 passing yards on 27 Winston attempts with an interception, and the Rams ran 28 times for 163 yards behind a line that never let Stafford get hit more than once. Dart's clean pocket against Dallas was the whole Giants case, and Dart did not start.
The row this page did get right was the spread step. It said the nine-cent gap between Rams-by-7 at 56 cents and Rams-by-8 at 47 cents was the widest on the board and that the 47-cent rung was the cheaper way to say Rams if you leaned that way. A 22-point win paid every Rams row through 20.5 points. The lesson for the next board is the one the market was already teaching: a week of injury news that adds two cents to an underdog is not a signal, and a road team whose quarterback situation the injury report never mentioned is not a buy at any price.
