Thursday Night Football heads to the shores of Lake Erie for Steelers-Browns, but not eerie is the typically low 38.5 total we've got on tap for tonight. Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson are under center, Rico Dowdle is out with a toe injury, and Cleveland center Elgton Jenkins is out with a concussion. Defenses on both sides are licking their chops.
Taking that a step further: the Browns have scored five touchdowns this season, and not a single one of those has come on the ground. Cleveland's offense lives in the air or Watson scrambles when the field gets short. Pittsburgh's got a goodbye tour version of Aaron Rodgers. If it weren't for Pittsburgh's secondary now missing Joey Porter Jr. (traded), and potentially missing Jalen Ramsey and Brandin Echols (questionable), there might be little hope for clicking into a one-way market tonight.
Luckily, we have options. Two options, in fact, both priced best on Kalshi, both on the home side. Let's get weird on a Thursday.
Play #1: The Target Log That Only Goes Up, 24¢ (+296 Effective)
Cleveland's passing game is showing signs of life, a sentence I really wasn't expecting to say in the Year of our Lord 2026. That's starting to show out in the Harold Fannin Jr. box score: three targets in Week 1, six in Week 2, and a hefty nine last week against Carolina. He turned that Week 3 workload into two touchdowns, a 2-yarder right before halftime and a 14-yarder late in the fourth, and he's played 86% of Cleveland's snaps in each of the last two games.
That puts Fannin Jr.'s season total up to 18 targets, second on the team behind Kevin Concepcion Jr.'s 20. And important for our purposes: two end-zone targets last week, which tells you exactly where Watson is looking once the field shrinks. Unless, of course, he goes into scramble mode. More on that later.
And to the Pittsburgh D side of things: they've allowed touchdowns on 5-of-7 red-zone trips they've faced, and Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki found the end zone against this same defense last Sunday.
FanDuel has Fannin Jr. at +280 and BetMGM at +250. Kalshi's 24¢ works out to +296 after the fee, the best number anywhere for him. So despite Cleveland scoring a grand total of 54 points in three games and a 38.5 total that isn't exactly promising a track meet, Fannin Jr.'s price is too good to pass up.
Play #2: Cleveland's Other Short-Yardage Option, 17¢ (+456 Effective)
Cleveland has run the ball 11 times inside the red zone this season, and quarterback Deshaun Watson took five of those carries. Sure, Quinshon Judkins took the other six, and the two of them have split the four carries inside the 10 right down the middle. But despite nobody having scored on any of them, five red zone rushes in three games is real volume.
Judkins has the total volume with 42 carries, but he's at 124 yards (under 3 a pop) and -0.36 EPA per rush, the kind of number that sends an offensive coordinator straight to the quarterback-keeper page of the playbook. And with the starting center out, the interior run game isn't getting any easier.
Deshaun Watson, meanwhile, has 109 yards on 20 carries, and 11 of those runs were scrambles. T.J. Watt is coming off the edge, and a pocket that collapses near the goal line is a pocket Watson has shown all season he's happy to leave.
BetMGM has Watson to score at +310. Kalshi's 17¢ works out to +456 after the fee, the widest gap between the exchange and the books I found on this board. The fine print: Watson hasn't run one in yet this season, and a quarterback touchdown at this price is a lot more likely to miss than hit, which is exactly why we're getting +456.
How I'd Size It
A quarter unit on each. Both plays are decent longshots and both need Cleveland to find the end zone, so they're tied together more than a usual two-man card. And if the Browns get stuffed for four quarters, both tickets go down together. Treat it as one position on the Browns' red-zone offense split two ways.
The Fee Math
Always a reminder for the fine folks newer to playing on Kalshi: they charge a taker fee of 7% of price times one-minus-price, rounded to the cent. In plain English, for Fannin's 24¢ you're adding on 1.28¢, so you're really paying 25.28¢. On Watson's 17¢ it's 0.99¢, so 17.99¢. The fee is smallest at the ends of the price range and peaks at even money, so longer shots like these lose less to it. Kalshi rounds up at settlement, so treat every effective number here as a ceiling and not a floor.
Also, these are market prices and model estimates, not predictions of fact and not financial advice. And just like at a sportsbook, this is a constantly moving market, so all prices are subject to change. Check actives and inactives 90 minutes before kickoff, make sure you're getting the best price possible, and enjoy the show.
The Official Card
Both contracts sit on the Steelers at Browns touchdown tab on Kalshi. Prices are accurate as of Thursday, October 1, 2026, 10:53 AM ET, with the effective column properly accounting for the taker fee:
| Contract | Price | After fee | Effective | Best book | Game |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harold Fannin Jr. Yes 1+ TD | 24¢ | 25.28¢ | +296 | +280 (FanDuel) | PIT at CLE |
| Deshaun Watson Yes 1+ TD | 17¢ | 17.99¢ | +456 | +310 (BetMGM) | PIT at CLE |
Fannin's contract has traded about 30,700 with roughly 29,600 still open, and Watson's about 35,700 with 32,900 open, so there's plenty of depth on both. Both prices could move before kickoff, so stay alert.

Final Thoughts
A tight end whose targets keep climbing and a quarterback the market is pricing like he's never seen a goal line, both at better numbers than any book is offering. Even at these prices, the math says the Watson ticket loses about four times out of five, so size it like it.
As always: quarter units, no chasing on a Thursday, and no hero sizing because Pittsburgh's secondary is short a few bodies. Trade smart, trade responsibly, and enjoy some AFC North football.
