Kalshi prices and sportsbook lines as of Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
You're going to hate me for this one. The Chargers are 0-4, and I can't remember the last time a team was hyped up this much and turned out this bad. Denver has scored 39 of its 74 points in the fourth quarter and 13 in the first half all season. That habit caught up to the Broncos in San Francisco, and I think it catches up again. Chargers +3.5.
Kickoff: Sunday, October 11, 4:05 PM ET, SoFi Stadium

Ranks out of 32 through Week 4 of 2026, nflverse play-by-play. Run game = EPA per carry, passing = EPA per dropback, protection = sacks-plus-hits rate against pressure rate, explosive = rate of completions of 20-plus. O = that offense has the edge, D = the defense does.
Broncos, best: pass protection (2nd), rushing efficiency (15th), pressure (11th). Worst: ypa (29th), scoring (27th), run defense yards (31st).
Chargers, best: ypc (11th), rushing yards (12th), pressure (2nd). Worst: offense overall (31st), pass protection (31st), run defense yards (26th).
The Chargers Are Bad
Los Angeles lost 30-23 in Seattle and pushed as a seven-point dog, its fourth straight loss to open the year. Justin Herbert went 19 of 31 for 189 with a touchdown and two interceptions and took four sacks and ten hits. The Chargers are 31st in EPA per play and 31st in sacks-plus-hits allowed. They lost their first two games at home, 26-14 to the Raiders and 26-14 to the Cardinals as an 8.5-point favorite.
The defense is the part that holds up. It is 11th in EPA per play allowed and second in pressure rate. And the schedule has been brutal. Do or die is an odd thing to say about a team that is effectively dead already. It is still do or die.
Denver Plays Fifteen Minutes
The Broncos lost 24-14 in San Francisco as three-point dogs. Bo Nix went 25 of 42 for 214 yards with a touchdown, 0 for 3 deep, and the run game went for 3.2 yards a carry. Denver is 27th in scoring at 18.5 points a game and can't get the ground game going.
The quarter splits tell the story. Of Denver's 74 points this season, 39 came in the fourth quarter and 13 in the first half combined. That worked against Jacksonville and the Rams. How long can you keep winning games when all of your production happens in the final 15 minutes? It didn't work in San Francisco, and unless the Broncos figure out how to sustain drives for 60 minutes, it will keep happening. Denver's run defense is 31st in EPA per carry.
The Pick
Chargers +3.5.On Kalshi, that is Denver not winning by four or more, 52 to 53 cents.
We're not asking the Chargers to win. We're asking them to lose by less than 3.5 to a team whose wins all come down to one score at the end.

Injury Report
- Justin Herbert's protection. Four sacks and ten hits last week; the Chargers are 31st in sacks-plus-hits allowed.
- Denver's run defense. 31st in EPA per carry allowed. The Chargers' backs, Omarion Hampton and Kimani Vidal, both scored last week.
- Indoors. SoFi Stadium. Weather is not a factor.
