Kalshi prices and sportsbook lines as of Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
Tampa Bay is 0-4, it lost outright as an 8.5-point home favorite to Cleveland, and on Thursday it goes to Dallas with Jalon Daniels, an undrafted rookie, at quarterback and Baker Mayfield off the practice field. Dak Prescott has been at his best at home in prime time for his whole career. Can a team cover 8.5 on a short week? Sure. I don't think this is the team that does it: Cowboys -8.5.
Kickoff: Thursday, October 8, 8:15 PM ET, AT&T Stadium, Prime Video
The Game Lines
Kalshi in cents, bid and ask. Sportsbook column is the consensus line.
| Line | Kalshi | Sportsbooks |
|---|---|---|
| Spread: Cowboys Win By 8+ / 10+ | 51-52¢ / 45-46¢ | Cowboys −8.5 |
| Total: Over 47.5 Points | 50-51¢ | 47.5 |
| Moneyline: Cowboys Win | 79-80¢ | Cowboys -455 / Buccaneers +350 |
Kalshi has no contract at exactly 8.5. Dallas winning by eight or more is 51 to 52 cents and by ten or more is 45 to 46, so the number sits right on a coin flip. The Cowboys to win outright are 79 to 80 cents, about -390, against -455 at the books. The over at 47.5 is 50 to 51 cents.

Ranks out of 32 through Week 4 of 2026, nflverse play-by-play. Run game = EPA per carry, passing = EPA per dropback, protection = sacks-plus-hits rate against pressure rate, explosive = rate of completions of 20-plus. O = that offense has the edge, D = the defense does.
Buccaneers, best: rushing efficiency (7th), ypc (19th), run defense yards (3rd). Worst: offense overall (32nd), passing efficiency (32nd), pressure (27th).
Cowboys, best: scoring (2nd), offense overall (3rd), run defense efficiency (20th). Worst: explosive passes (31st), rushing yards (28th), pass defense efficiency (32nd).
Tampa Bay Has Not Scored Twenty Since Week One
The Buccaneers lost 17-14 at home to Green Bay and pushed as a three-point dog. Daniels went 19 of 27 for 148 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, did not throw a single pass 20 or more yards downfield, and took three sacks and seven hits. The offense went 5 of 12 on third down with one completion of 20-plus. Bucky Irving carried 16 times for 61 yards. Chris Godwin Jr. caught six passes for 31 yards, and Emeka Egbuka caught two of four targets for 13.
Through four weeks Tampa Bay is last in EPA per play and last in EPA per dropback, and 30th in sacks-plus-hits allowed per dropback. It has scored 19, 16 and 14 the last three weeks. The run game ranks seventh in EPA per carry, the one part that works, and it does not help a team that has to keep up with Dallas. Egbuka has taken a real step back from the pace of his first season, and Godwin is past his prime. To cover 8.5, Tampa Bay probably needs a shootout, and I'd be hard pressed to see this offense create one.
Dallas Wins In Shootouts
The Cowboys won 34-30 in Houston as a three-point dog. Prescott went 32 of 45 for 335 yards with no turnovers, CeeDee Lamb caught 17 of 21 targets for 189 yards, and Javonte Williams scored three touchdowns. George Pickens has been quiet, three targets last week, though two of them went for 75 yards. Dallas has gone over the total in all four games and is second in the league at 30.5 points per game, third in EPA per play.
The defense is why this number is not in double digits. Dallas is 31st in EPA per play allowed, last against the pass, and last in completions of 20-plus allowed; Houston hit eight of them on Sunday. That is a problem against a quarterback who can push the ball downfield. Tampa Bay's passing game is last in the league with a rookie running it.
The Only Way Tampa Stays In It
The Buccaneers' defense is the one thing that can keep this close. It is fifth in EPA per play allowed and third against the run. Look at who it has faced, though: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Minnesota and Green Bay, and the last three rank 16th, 25th and 27th in offensive EPA. Lamb, Pickens and Williams in Arlington is a different assignment, and Antoine Winfield Jr., Benjamin Morrison and SirVocea Dennis all missed practice early in the week.
The Pick
Cowboys -8.5.On Kalshi, the nearest contract is Dallas to win by eight or more, 51 to 52 cents.
Any team can cover 8.5 in a short-week prime-time game. Tampa Bay, with this quarterback and an offense that can't run up a score, is not the one I expect to do it.
